I can't tell you the number of times I've had to plan for a project or repair something and ended up heading off to the hardware store with a handful of screws in my back pocket so I could figure out what additional hardware I need. Or the number of times I've looked at the loose screws in the bottom of my toolbox thinking I should organize them but knowing I had no way of doing it quickly and correctly.Well, now I have this thing in my own garage! Let's be honest, I'm still not going to organize my screws. But now I can save myself a trip to the hardware store when I need that one extra in a size I know I have... somewhere. The build quality on this is great. Solid metal that's going to withstand repeated use, and very clear laser etched markings. It's not just functional, it looks great hanging above my workbench too.

This is an excellent gauge. Thick aluminum anodized body and it's got some heft to it. I don't know how i've worked this long without something like this. Beats struggling to find the correct matching bolts and nuts or bringing parts to the local hardware store to try and figure it out. Pays for itself after the first use.

My first impressions of the Nut and Bolt Thread Checker are very positive. The quality is great—it’s lightweight, easy to carry, and great that it is made out of metal. On first inspection, there was no damage to the checker's steel bolts, and the female threads in the checker were clean upon opening the package. My only concern is that since the checker is primarily made of aluminum, it may wear out faster than steel, though this largely depends on how often it is used and how well it is maintained. Other than that, it's a great tool for identifying bolts and nuts, especially when they have been mixed.

Maybe not that usefulCons:o Drill gauge limited - only eight sizes, 6 metric, 2 imperialo Documents mislabel 1/2" and 1/4" drill gaugeso Wall mount kit not goodA month ago I was replacing casters on our Christmas tree, and the guy at Lowe's measured the threads as metric 10x1.25. When I started shopping for replacements, I was pretty suspicious because there were virtually no 1.25 threadings, almost everything was 1.5. Well to make a long story short, he just mismeasured. If I had this checker at a home I could have spared myself a lot of trouble by just doing it right the first time.This has a good selection of bolt sizes and threadings, it is going to cover 99% of your use cases. The drill gauge is really not so hot - you get six metric sizes and two imperial, just 1/4" and 1/2". The metric gauge holes are weirdly labeled using a phi symbol instead of mm, and the two imperial drill gauges are mislabeled in the instructions which say they are 1/4mm and 1/2mm. Easy enough to work around.A wall mount kit is included, and this seems like something that you really do want to wall mount. Unfortunately, the wall mount kit is pretty useless. It has standoffs and four bolts. There is enough length in the bolt to attach to the standoff, but you aren't going to be able to attach it to the wall with the kit. Notably, all the photos in the product page show it hanging from a pegboard.It also includes some cleaning brushes, which I suspect I will lose right away, and that's okay because I doubt I will ever use them.The whole thing is very hefty, you aren't going to be able to bend or break it, which is nice.This would make a great stocking stuffer for the handyman in your life.--------I'm honored to be included in the Amazon Vine program, and I work really hard to make these reviews and videos helpful. Pretty happy with the product, good quality and well made. Helped me organize my bolt drawer, additionally it came with a brush to clean out the threads after I used it.
