Works very well and heavy duty. The problem comes in when it comes rolled up. It takes 2 people to unroll it. Even after sitting in the sun for 2 days. We got it unrolled with effort, put chairs on it . The chairs wouldn't hold it down. We put gravestones on it ( in the business) . That held it down. Left overnight and that did the trick.

When I first purchased, I had to lay it out on the screened in porch because of the aroma. (Heavy plastic smell) It took a few days for aroma to go away. When I brought it inside it still wanted to curl up, but now that I'm using my chair on it, it is laying pretty much flat. Sooo much easier with the mat when you move your office chair. Love it. It's thick and durable.

Works great on shorter carpet, happy with the thickness of the mat, same quality as the one I replaced that cost much more at OfficeMax.

We just got new carpet and got thick carpet padding as well. I didn’t want this chair to ruin the brand new carpet so I purchased this mat. It came rolled up and it did take a good week to finally fully flatten but once it did it has been a super nice product. Despite being in thick carpet and carpet padding the chair can easily roll on this mat. This mat is pliable but it is still very strong and sits on carpet nicely. It is protecting my carpet from wear and allows us to keep the chair and desk where we wanted it.

The chair mat that was under my chair for the last 15 years (really!! !5 years!) finally became a danger... the mat itself had become rigid and was cracking and splitting. When it eventually disintegrated and became a danger to my feet, it was time to replace it. This new mat is amazing!! Yes, it came rolled up and because I live in Michigan, and because it's January and because it sat on my porch for a couple of hours, it was seriously locked in the "roll" position and refused to unroll. So, I laid it on the floor (still rolled up) placed a space heater in front of it and left it for about 30 minutes. When I came back, it rolled right out and after a few minutes, I placed it under the chair where it's sitting now as I write this. This mat fits nicely under the desk, it's thick enough to support me AND my chair and the chair rolls easily on it. I no longer fear for my toes and who knows... maybe this one will last for 15 years too! One can only hope... In short, I give it 5 stars because it does exactly what it's supposed to do!!

I really wanted to like this, but there were several reasons I would never purchase it again. First, it arrives SO hardened into a tight roll that even someone with very strong wrists can barely open it. The directions are strange and tell you to put it out in the sunshine for a few hours (difficult in the cold northern states in November when most days are cloudy and freezing cold) and do a few other things in order to "soften" it up. Even after doing all of the steps, the material was super hard plastic. The only way we could even get this to roll out was to take 2 people who literally sat on part of it in order to get it bent open, and stacked heavy books on all sides and left for 2 days to relax the material. I wish "hard" meant "sturdy" and "durable", but when you get it rolled out (finally), it's a rather cheap, thin version of a chair mat, so it's not the nice thick durable ones like better ones. The material is not as thick as it should be, which leads to the 3rd problem. After all of that fussing and prepping the product, when we put our rolling office chair on it, it WOULDN'T MOVE at all! It literally felt like it sank into a rut and wouldn't budge, so it ended up being useless and we disposed of it and will keep looking for a better quality replacement. Very disappointed. If you're looking for a quick solution to take out of the box and use right away without a bunch of hassle, look elsewhere, this is not your product.
