These are a nice basic set of chisels, that come in a fairly nice case for the price. They came razor sharp, and are comfortable to hold. I have not yet used them enough to gauge how well they hold their edge, but so far so good. The strike cap on the handle should keep them in good shape no matter how you use them. As long as the edges hold up well, I'd give these five stars.

I'm not a professional wood worker, but I got these to help with a few little jobs I have around the house. They have worked great for what I needed, but I doubt they would up to heavy use. The hit cap is just that... a cap, so there is a chance the plastic handle could still fracture with time, but unless you are really using this a lot, it's probably just fine. The four sizes are nice and add to the versatility of this set.

I'm not doing fine woodworking. I'm always using chisels to knock out areas to fit a board in or to inset a hinge, it's not finish work, it's rough in kind of stuff. The set I had been using was going on 20 years old now and was as dull as a dodo as my dad used to say. So, my glowing review is the gratitude I felt when it didn't take me an excessive number of blows or force to tap these chisels into the beam I was cutting a notch out of. If you are a master woodworker, I'm sure you want the best of the best and these wouldn't be your first choice but for someone like me who just needs a nice solid sharp tool to get the job done at hand, I love these.

This review is for the 4 Piece Wood Chisel Set, at a price of $30.28.This chisel set isn't all that good of quality in its materials or how it was constructed, but it might be sufficient for someone who needs to do a simple task such as carving out a cavity for a door latch plate or hinge and who doesn't want to spend more for a larger set.In a quality chisel, the strike cap is connected all the way through the handle into the metal chisel blade itself, so that sharp impacts from a hammer bypass the handle and are directed into the blade edge. In this chisel set, the strike cap is merely a bolt with a wide, flat head that is screwed or pressed into the plastic handle. As a test with one of the chisels, I was able to carefully unscrew and remove the strike plate with a pair of pliers, exposing a hollow cavity extending through the plastic handle.I am not sure what kind of metal these chisel blades are made of, but they are certainly not sharp. Someone could probably use a sharpening stone or chisel sharpening jig to improve this, but it would be unknown as to how long these would stay sharp. At the current price of about $30, there are much better options available than this, however with a generous coupon or discount, this set might be OK for some light-duty tasks.

TOOLMAYS 4 Pcs. Wood Chisel SetI have been woodworking for many years, and chisels are an everyday “staple” of my longstanding hobby. Over the last few years I have switched from power tools to become a hand-tools only woodworker, and no tool is more central to my work nor more used than a chisel.Having said this, I was happy and delighted to evaluate this chisel set. But, to be honest, I was a bit concerned from the onset due to its low price point. I think it’s fair to say that most chisel sets in this price vicinity leave a lot to be desired in terms of quality. But NOT this set. I was most pleasantly surprised to discover that this set uses “chisel steel” made by a company I’ve come to know and trust in chisels: GREBSTK. I own a couple other sets of their chisels, and, exactly like this set, the chisels are made from bonafide premium steel—Chromium Vanadium. In addition, they make all their chisels with a Rockwell hardness rating of 60, considered by many woodworkers the “sweet spot” for chisel steel hardness. This combination—Chrome Vanadium steel and a 60 Rockwell hardness rating—enables their chisels to maintain a strong and keen edge. The handles are very grippy and durable, and have a nice feel to them. On the butt end of the handles are all-important steel caps which are welded to the chisels’ steel tangs. You can pound on these steel caps with considerable force (if need be) and no harm will come to the chisels. So the chisels themselves are very durable. (Just remember to NEVER drop them!)For its excellent price point—roughly that’s only $7.50 a chisel!—this set of 4 is truly a great value. You get a 3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1”—the four most commonly used sizes of chisels. I assure you that these are indeed high-quality chisels. They may not have the “fit and finish” of a $100 set, but that’s just bells and whistles compared to the quality of the steel, the keenness and durability of your edges, and the strength and durability afforded by those strike plates (steel caps). In conclusion, this set would be an ideal beginner’s set of chisels. But that’s not to say that more experienced users couldn’t find a place for them in their workflow (I have!). And, again, for chisels of this quality, it’s really hard to beat the price and value. I sincerely hope you’ll give them a try—especially if you’re just getting into woodworking. They’ll serve you well!

The chisels are good for rough work. The full tang is nice. Overall these are decent but the price is very high. Not a good value in my opinion.
