I tried it out this morning, and it worked perfectly. As soon as I started cooking, I could see the air quality drop right away, which was really helpful. It’s easy to use and gives clear readings, so I feel much more aware of the air in my home. Definitely a great tool for anyone who wants to keep an eye on indoor air quality!

This air quality monitor looks nice, has an easily readable display and a rechargeable battery. It came with simple but understandable instructions and a charging cable. But, that's the end of the good part. The battery only holds a charge for a few hours and they do state this in the instructions. But why put such a weak battery in it? This a minor negative, because you could just leave it plugged in. The big negative is that the readings are all over the place. I have calibrated it several times as the instructions suggest and kept it in only one room in my house. The CO2 reading would swing up and down between 440ppm all the way up to almost 3,000ppm and all within 20 to 30 minutes time, then it would drop way down again. There is nothing going on in the room that should cause anything like this. I have two air purifiers in my home with built in air quality analyzers and although they do change some, they do not do change anywhere near this amount. I have to conclude that I either have a defective one or it is just plain unreliable. I'd give this one a pass.

I had fun testing this around my home over the period of about two weeks. I did not initially calibrate the device but it certainly displayed a full range of CO2 values over that period of time. It was really interesting to see how quickly it responded to having multiple people in a room, cooking, and even baby chicks that we had in a cardboard box nearby. The high CO2 alarm actually went off several times over the week, depending on conditions. That made me a bit nervous but then I re-read the instructions and realized that I never calibrated the sensor, in fresh air. Now, that will probably make things worse but wanted to note that. The alarm seems to only be tied to the CO2 level and it would have been nice to have alarms for VOC and HCHO. The documentation doesn't have any guidance on those levels either, which would have been nice. The display is clear and easy to read and the batteries last a little less than a day when unplugged, but adequate if you're moving between rooms and such. Temperature and humidity appear to be correct.I plan to use this on a project sailboat project this summer, and it will be interesting to see how it tracks VOCs and stuff when I'm using paint, epoxy, and other boat construction materials.Overall, this product has a fast and accurate display but I wish that it had a little longer battery life and more information on acceptable levels VOCs being monitored.

This Air Quality Detector has a very nice looking and easily readable color digital display with large digits and text displaying CO2, formaldehyde and total volatile organic compounds levels. Room temp and humidity is also displayed along with a color bar graph for a quick view of whether the air quality (as measured by CO2 levels only) is within green (normal), yellow (elevated), orange (highly elevated) or red (extremely elevated) levels. If levels exceed a standard level during a test, an alarm is sounded. The unit is powered by an internal lithium ion battery that is recharged via a USB-A to USB-C cable (included along with a 5Vdc 1A USB-A charging block). I do not know whether leaving the detector on all the time will damage the sensors, nor what the duration of the rechargeable battery is. Also, you cannot just leave the detector charging all the time as the detector temp will read high (perhaps due to heating during charging?). This leads to the question of whether this is designed to be used as an air quality “monitor”, or just as an air quality “meter”. Because of this, although there is a high CO2 level audible alarm, I don’t think this can be left on as a warning device or monitor, rather it seems as though you have to check levels periodically manually, which somewhat diminishes the potential benefit of this device. After leaving this on for about 20 minutes, the battery charge bar graph indicator showed a loss of about 30% charge. Calibration of the device is accomplished by turning the device on with a 3 second press of the On/Off button, then leaving the detector in a well ventilated area (near open window) or outdoors for 120 seconds. That being the case, I have no way of actually testing whether the readings themselves are accurate and just have to trust the manufacturer on this. So overall, this appears to be a good device to periodically check out your indoor air quality (perhaps checking to see if you have adequately ventilated a room after using cleaning agents or something) but is not useful as a monitor to warn you of when air quality has become dangerous.
