I love these hoof wraps! These are the best invention for hoof abscesses. I can pack the hoof with povidone iodine and sugar, cover this with cotton padding, and then quickly cover the entire sole with one of the wraps and quickly stick to the wall. Takes so much less time. No need to make the grid out of duct tape to cover the sole which takes a lot of time with an impatient horse. These wraps allow you to cover the packing material quickly and the horse can have a break while keeping everything clean. I would recommend adding a rim of duct tape to help the bandage last 1 to 2 days before needing to be replaced from the hoof cutting through.Everyone should have these in their first aid kit for horses. You will be thankful you did!

Same as the ones I buy locally at the feed and farm stores. These are adequate for when you need to treat a hoof and customizable since you can cut them with scissors. Good to keep in the tack room!

I ordered these to have on hand in my first aid kit. The 50.00 price point for a 24-pack puts these at a little over 2.00 per hoof tape. That is a bit pricey, but seems average for equine first aid supplies. The front to back (length) dimension is 9.5 inches and side to side (width) dimension is also 9.5 inches. My 14.3 quarter horse with petite feet measures 4.5 inches wide and long so that gives about 2 inches outer hoof wall vertical coverage for adhesion. If you have a horse with larger feet, make sure you measure to see if these will be large enough to adhere properly to the outside of the hoof wall. Any ointment you put under the hoof will negatively affect adhesion, so make sure the outer hoof wall is clean dry and free of any ointment when you stick these on. Using vet wrap over the outside as an additional layer of protection would be helpful for turnout. These really should come with a set of instructions on proper use.

These hoof cover sheets are really handy. Most of my horses have shoes but occasionally one will pull a shoe and the farrier can’t always make it out right away. This protects the bare foot from further chipping or damage with ease. They are also very handy for any packing that may need to be done. These are fairly large so will fit a variety of foot sizes.

After a friend had an abcess that went to her horses bone, I take them much more seriously. My horse currently had a pop gravel that has grown out leaving a large portion of his hoof missing. These pads are good to hold salves and clay close to the frog. The adhesive is strong and works well. The fabric is on the thinner side. I use a diaper over and my normal duct tape routine. They are on the expensive side, but no more than most hoof dressings. They are good to have on hand for unexpected abcesses. It’s a good product for applying under another protective bandage, but it’s not durable enough for the outer layer.

I have two Thoroughbred mares that get hoof abscesses at least once a year if not more often (depending on the weather). These looked like a great alternative to the duct tape boots I make for them. I am a little disappointed that they are on the thin side and would be best suited if your horse is in a stall with soft bedding as I don't think they are going to hold up to walking around outside. I will probably use them in combination with some duct tape over them to give them more longevity as I like to turn my horses out when they have an abscess as moving around helps it resolve quicker. I wish there had been an instruction sheet included with them. Yes, they might be a little self explanatory and it does have instructions for use online, but I'm thinking of less experienced horse people and how they might need a some help. I will make use of them, I'm sure, but wish they were a little thicker for turn out use.
