This smart sprinkler controller has been a great addition to my garden. It’s easy to set up and the weather integration feature is really handy—it skips watering when it's going to rain, which saves water and keeps my plants from getting overwatered. It won't be 100% correct all the time, but that's par for the course for these automated sprinkler systems. The app is user-friendly, and I like that I can also control it manually if needed. The different irrigation modes are a plus, especially the cycle and soak feature for my sloped yard.

I will start with the good even though I am somewhat disappointed with this controller. The hardware installation and software setup was extremely easy. Much like setting up most smart devices these days. The app seems to be pretty intuitive. You can set events, add a sensor (proprietary I am sure) for local weather conditions and of course do a manual watering if you so desire for each zone. IIt also supports smart assistants like Google. have seen other WiFi controllers from major brands like RainBird and Orbit that cost significantly more than this one yet don't really offer a whole lot more. So the value seems to be there IMO. Not sure if there is a HA integration, but it would be nice. Now to the bad. To use the controller, you are required to setup yet another account. You should be able to run this locally and check weather off just the input of my zip code alone since it is connected to the internet after all. Luckily, since I live in the desert, I run the irrigation regardless of what little rain we get so I am not giving them much input including a junk email address. But if you wanted more control, you would have to give them more information. Unfortunately this controller does not support complex watering schedules. Being that I live in the desert, my city has a watering conservation schedule that changes depending on the season. So in order to follow it, I would have to manually change the controllers schedule every time. It should be able to do this automatically. In order to manually start a zone, it takes multiple touches in the app, there should be an easier way. The wall transformer is both massive and heavy which is good and bad. It's almost like they expect you will be running all 8 zones at the same time. It can have trouble staying in the socket if the prongs don't fit snug. My current 6-zone controllers wall transformer is about a third the size and a sixth the weight, literally. The app has designated rooms/zones in it like "Garden" and "Livingroom" which you are not able to delete which is so dumb. I have no idea why "Livingroom" would be included in an irrigation controller. Not a biggie though, just agitating my OCD a bit.As long as this lasts quite a few years I would say that it's worth it. This controller is cheaper than a lot of the major brands comparable models which is the risk you take should they close up shop, rebrand or go out of business. That being said some important elements of this controller seem to be ridiculously over spec'd giving me hope that it will last. Just make sure you don't need more complex scheduling.

I'm really liking this smart sprinkler controller. It connected very easily to my network, and did so again after a "power outage" when I tested and configured it indoors before moving it outside permanently. The app is very intuitive to use with pop up help when needed. I was even able to customize each zone in the app with an actual picture of the zone from my phone. After setting up watering plans, the forecast called for rain and the sprinklers did not run. You can also manually set up your own extended rain delay. There is an event log that keeps track of everything, including if a valve/solenoid is not responding. The app does require setting up an account using an email address, and it does required GPS location to get the weather. My water needs are pretty simple with 7 zones of sprinklers and drips. I programmed in the same run times from my old controller, and set up different plans I will manually turn on and off for each season. The so called "smart plans" would have watered too much, so I just stuck with what I know would work. I also programmed in percentages for each month to decrease and increase watering duration. I used to have to change all of this manually on my old controller. This smart controller is meant to be installed indoors. However, I replaced an old outdoor hardwired controller and found a weatherproof controller box with an outlet I could wire up, instead of trying to relocate all the wires to the inside of the garage. This additional prerequisite project added 5 hours. The power transformer barely fits inside the new box. Wiring up the valve wires was straight forward, except my kit did not come with a jumper wire for the sensor terminals. So I just used the jumper wire from my old controller.Overall I would recommend this smart sprinkler controller.

The sprinkler system is hand-sized and lightweight; I can easily install it on any surface. The plug or transformer is heavy. I have eight zones, and the systems cover all of them. The app manages everything, and the system connects to the weather. Using the systems with the smart feature is beneficial if the zones are not a mix of sun and shade and are not a mix of under the trees or the eave.Unfortunately, I have it all mixed up everywhere and am forced to use the manual setting in the mixed zones. The advantage for me is that I can control each zone independently, and I have two zones where I can use the smart feature. The system will connect to the weather via the app, and I do not have to monitor it.For the manual zones, the app is easy to use, and I have a schedule that I can leave on and only worry about turning off when there are more than two consecutive days of rain. I have plants under and close to pine trees that remain dry even when it rains because the pines not only prevent the rain from reaching the ground, but when it does, the pines soak up all the water. It is a nightmare to have a manual system when I have a mixed zone garden. For me, a smart sprinkler system is necessary. I would like to use the smart feature in every zone. However, even using the smart feature in some zones is already a big help, even more so when I travel. This sprinkler system was easy to connect, and the instructions were decent. Most of the work is done once the app is downloaded and ready to program the schedules.
