The plastic is too brittle and the clips on many of them are molded too close to the body and cause issue getting it on the string. If you attemp to flex the clip enough to get it on the string, they break off.

These little levels are perfect for around the house and projects outside. I have a variety of things that I do that benefit from me using a level, and I was previously depending on an app on my phone. Let's just say that's not the worst decision... but not something I want to depend on for important leveling needs. The old-fashioned spirit level is one of the most time-tested and cheap solutions for everyday use. These will be useful for setting up the new foundation for a shed I want to build in the back yard. The fact that they can be hooked onto a wire or string is very handy. You can set up a string with a nail on one side (or tie to around a post at a height you want) and then hang this from the line. Raise or lower the other side until you achieve "level" and secure or mark where the line is, and you're golden. Just make sure the line is as taut as you can get it and is not a type of line that will stretch easily. Line sag WILL affect your level. Even though these are very lightweight the accuracy is affected by your choice of material, length of line, and weather like wind/rain.Would I prefer something like a fancy laser level or something long, metal-bodied, and construction-grade? Duh. But those cost a ton more than these handy little guys do, and for the uses I have now this works just fine. Outside visibility of a laser level isn't always the best, either. These are easy to read, even in (or especially because of) bright sunlight. 8 of them gives you plenty of leeway to leave them "hanging" in various areas where you are working to confirm adjustments on other parts of your structure didn't affect a previously level area. The visible part where the "bubble" is in the middle is more difficult to see if you are using it under a picture frame or a solid item that isn't a "string" of some sort and you need to use the non-hanging (flat) side. It's good enough that I was able to make due and get the job done. That's really the only problem I had with these. A slightly bigger "window" on the bottom for the bubble would fix that... For perspective: Most line-type levels don't usually INCLUDE the ability to flip them over and read the bottom.... soooooooo... not bad.The plastic seems decently sturdy and it doesn't look like it will have any issues with bending or breaking easily. I wouldn't put anything heavy on top of them... but that's not really something they are intended for, anyway.Great value, and I like how many they include in the package. I'm not in construction, so I don't need 20 of them. If I were... I would probably order a large set of these. Even if I had the "fancier" equipment, I can see these being good for spot testing and easy portability.

Contractor for patio pavers in gravel project likes them along with 2 6' and 1 4' and 1 1.5' levels to double check. He says these are accurate, also reliable on string as intended. 5-STARS
