These chisels are great for someone getting started with Late Turning, who wants an inexpensive and diverse set. They're not the highest quality, but it has enough sizes and shapes to get you started, and you can buy better tools for whichever chisel you use the most.

The tools are well-crafted and feel sturdy in hand, allowing for precise and smooth cuts on the lathe.Overall, I highly recommend the HANPEX Wood Turning Tools Set to anyone looking for a reliable and versatile set of lathe chisels. Whether you are a beginner just starting out or an experienced woodturner, these tools are sure to meet your needs and exceed your expectations. A great addition to any woodworking tool collection.

The box these came in was pretty beat up but the tools inside were in good shape and work pretty well so far. I have an older lathe and tend to use wood that is a bit on the softer side. These tools have been about as good as the other turning tools I routinely use. I get a nice smooth finish when using them and they're a good sharpness out of the box, didn't need to do anything special before using them. Handles are a good length and feel pretty nice while working with them. Overall this is a good variety of tools if you don't have them with good enough quality to last you a while.

I am definitely not an expert woodworker (yet), but the design of the handles and blade sharpness are 'perfect' as far as I can tell. I was impressed at how little effort it took to reshape a dowel so it would fit snugly into the base of a stand I was making. So far, I can recommend this set with no reservation.

The handle where the metal piece meets it is loose. After any type of wear and tear and use it will break. Not sure I would trust this with something you are going to sell

For $30, it’s a great set. They do need to be sharpened, especially the 1” skew and 3/4” gouge. The smaller tools had a decent edge fight out of the box. I’d recommend these for someone just starting or someone with just a few projects to do.You won’t become Ernie Conover overnight but you’ll turn some respectable projects.

This set is priced as a starter set for those who are just dipping their toes into the world of lathe turning. When it comes to quality, this set is fairly sharp out of the box but it never hurts to make sure. They hold their edge well for the price. I'm sure you can see where I'm going: Are there higher quality tools out there? Yes. But you won't find a full set to try like this for a better price.

They look and feel ok. Unfortunately one broke after 30 minutes of use…. The rest seem ok so far.
