I did some research and it appears that 7.4V batteries all come with 8.4v chargers for some reason. Normally, you want to match up the voltage and then the higher the amp rating on the charger, the faster the batteries will charge....but for some reason, 7.4v batteries for the various heated clothing items all use 8.4v chargers.In any case, there is a very bright light on the charger that indicates if it is charging the batteries or if it is done. When you initially plug in batteries with low charge, the LED light is red. After charging, it changes to green. This is an awesome addition that I was not aware of when I made the purchase.My only minor complaint is that the light is VERY bright, so don't use it in the bedroom when you are trying to sleep. :)
