No issues running my old cameras when used with my PoE switch. Easy way to avoid running dedicated power for longer cable runs.

I use these devices to connect battery-powered Ring Stick Up Cams to POE cables. I originally expected to rely solely on battery but then began dreading the thought of climbing the ladder to change batteries every 3-4 months. These splitters allowed me to connect my battery-powered Ring Stick Up Cams to existing POE cables. POE cable goes in this splitter, barrel plug goes to the Ring camera, the ethernet cable remains unused because Ring cameras are wireless. Works okay so far.

No issues at all, using a Zyxel PoE switch and a 5v Foscam camera, it was a simple plug 'n play setup that worked right the first time.

I'm connecting/powering two Hue bridges with this via my PoE capable network switch. But to do so you will need an additional 5.5x2.1mm female to 5.5x2.5mm male jack as the supplied adaptors are not suitable for Hue bridge v2. Your setup will end up looking like in the attached photo, a bit bulky but still much cleaner than having two power supplies, especially if you have limited space/power points. Had it for over a year and no problems so far.

I used this to power a Philips Hue bridge from a PoE-enabled switch. It works great, no configuration needed. This let me skip the power adapter that came with the bridge in favor of a much longer ethernet cable.

Note that you have to plug the rj45 socket into the switch port that is supplying PoE, and the rj45 plug (and power plug) into the device that you're trying to power with PoE. I mean it's right there in the instructions on the product page now that I go and look, but...I had a socket coming out of the switch (so I needed an ethernet cable to plug the two sockets together) and a device that had a plug coming out of it (so I needed a dual socket connector to attach the two plugs). I found this counter-intuitive given my situation, but it is documented, so it's mostly my fault for not reading carefully.

I have several of these on IP cameras that require the additional 12 volts but do not run on standard POE via RJ45.No issues whatsoever. Could be used to power a separate IR iluminator also.

This is a great solution for getting 5VDC power to a remote camera or other device. I use this to split 5VDC off from a PoE line that runs to a Foscam R2 camera.I also use the Ethernet jack on the Foscam to pull the signal instead of using the built-in wifi capability. Using this splitter means I can power the camera AND get a solid, reliable video feed over a wired Ethernet connection from it.
