I have nothing but issues with this iris the threats do not match any of my previous 14 tubes from different manufacturersAnd the twisting part itself gets stuck a third of the way and will not close anymore making it completely uselessYou are better spending a little bit extra and getting the official ones which also have warranty rather than trying to cheap out on Amazon

Works on my PVS-14/RVM-14. Already comes with a 37mm sacrificial lens so you don't have to buy another one like I did.

Screwed right into my night vision monocular. Works great, been a fantastic upgrade. It also came with the front protector lens which is pretty sweet, saved me some money. Overall a very good buy if you have a night vision setup, a lot cheaper than the absurdly overpriced irises that are sold by night vision companies.

This is a must for your pvs14. Screw the iris to the end of your PVS14.I recommend adding a clear filter to the end to protect your lens. When setting this up (obviously at night), open up the iris all the way, manually adjust your gain to the sky, and adjust the pvs14 focus to infinity by focusing on the stars. Then, crank up the PVS 14's gain to the max that it will do. With your gain set to the maximum and the iris open, look at your surroundings and close the iris until the brightness is where you want it. This way, you'll have the correct brightness set and have more of your surroundings in focus.

Bought 2 of these for the objective ends of my UANVB Katana setup, which uses PVS-14 tubes and thread specs. These fit and threaded in perfectly, and have a standard 37mm per thread which I used to add standard clear 37mm sacrificial lenses (Tiffen filters brand). Overall, these irises seem to be very good quality and function great. My only complaint would be that for NVG use, I would prefer the adjustment were far more stiff, as it is relatively easy to bump the adjustment and open or close the iris more than you want. Other than that, I'm very satisfied.

These are great alternatives to Tarsier Eclipses. I personally prefer how these screw into PVS-14 style optics instead of sliding over the objective and the actuation is firm enough to not slide around but not so firm, like the Eclipse, that it will also turn the focus as well- super annoying. The only thing to note is they are not as robust and the sac lenses you can get are not rated for force-on-force or airsoft so that’s something to consider if it’s something you do.Closing the iris will increase your depth of field but while reducing your available light. The image gets darker the more you close them but you’re able to see things in focus much closer up. With these closed almost fully, I’m able to use my phone without issue, look at my watch/gps, etc. If there’s plenty of ambient lum, you can find a sweet spot where you’re able to see your hands (and what may be in them that requires fine motor skills!) out to infinity and have plenty of light to work with.
