I got this dual polarizing eyepiece filter because I’m an amateur astronomer. Having an arsenal of eyepieces and filters is crucial for optimal observing. This dual polarizing filter is both economical and useful, if you can get past the poor – or lacking – instructions. The brief instructions in the item description misleadingly suggest that one should “Simply rotate the front lens to fine-tune your view”. This would require one to constantly remove the eyepiece, rotate some unknown amount, re-insert eyepiece, then repeat. But this is not realistic. Rather, one should separate this dual filter, attach one filter to the eyepiece, and the other to a diagonal, or Barlow, etc. Then one can simply rotate the entire eyepiece. Used this way, this dual filter is quite handy to modulate the light intensity. [If this is not clear, just Google something like dual polarizing filter tricks.] Further, you can view in polarized light by simply using a single filter.The price for this dual polarizing filter at the time of this review is $25, a good price. Other higher quality dual filters will cost more, but for the money, this filter is well-executed and has good fit and finish. But I am still deducting one star for the poor “instructions”.

This is exactly what it is said to be. Included is a picture of the filter placed on an eyepiece. And I can confirm that the polarization is in fact adjusted as you turn the outer filter. Another reviewer has tipped you off to the idea that this filter can be attached and utilized in different configurations.Recommended!
