It is very solid, nicely machined and even has a very nice wrench. It does the job beautifully. I use a drill with an extender and a 5/16" nut driver to narrow the gap between the screw clamp and the wood and use the wrench to tighten that last turn. And you can't beat it for the price.

I like these a lot. I bought some which were much more expensive that are not designed as well as these. These are easier to use.

This is just ok, it sits too low to the workbench for the wrench to function properly. It also flexes when tightened, so then it raises the workpiece above the workbench. It is unusable

I had high hopes that this would solve the problem of the ridiculously high priced tail / wagon vises. Not so. I have problems with it lifting the work piece off of the top of the bench. I think that if the piece that goes into the do hole was longer that it may help. And that piece is very tight in 3/4" dog holes. I suppose that is actually a good thing that maybe it's to help it from "tipping" and lifting the work piece. If so, it doesn't seem to help. I suspect though that it's actually metric, I didn't measure to confirm, and not 3/4" that's why it's so tight. I mean the rest of it is metric so ... The small ratchet wrench that comes with it seems to work surprisingly well but it something that you'll have to keep track of which I knew going in.

It is small but very useful and extremely well built. If you have a wood workers bench with 3/4 inch dog holes you need at least one of these. I used it on some odd angle glue ups. If is very powerful.

Nicely made assembly and ratchet wrench. I bought the 19mm size and it’s a little sloppy in my 19.75 mm bench holes, which causes the board being held to pitch up from the bench slightly. Even with a tight fit, the board would probably still tend to lift anyway. I’ll try milling or filing a slight bevel on the brass block like the Veritas version, which costs twice as much and would probably do the same thing. Leaving the wrench on the screw reduces the lift also. It’s still very usable and is a good value as received.
