First time I’ve used a crimper tool and found this one to be of decent quality for the price. I installed a cable railing and did approximately 25 crimps. This crimper worked well and came with several different sized keys. I used the #4 and it worked perfect for my cable. I would purchase again!

This is what you need if you're crimping heavy gauge cables. The only trick I encountered was that using the 4 AWG dies sometimes didn’t crimp well-enough on 4 AWG cables and terminals. I had to use the next size down. That could have been user error, but I don't understand how I could have done it wrong. I'll still say 5 stars because it is probably user-error, but if not, holy smokes did this thing make the job easy anyway!In addition to a nice selection of dies, the kit comes with what seems to be a pair good quality cutters, a pair of gloves for some reason, and a rebuild kit. Pretty nifty addition there.

First crimp went great, second crimp went successful on the compression but upon release, the press expelled all of its oil from the head. It will no longer compress.This tool is only good for a single crimp.

Nice kit with case! Easy to use and crimps very well. Only had to make a few crimps on 3/16” stainless cable but could have used this so many times in the past. Only thing I wish they added was the chart that shows which crimp jaws to use for what sized cable. I printed that off the product listing page on Amazon.

Acheté cet outil pour fabriquer des câbles avec cosses de calibre 4/0 awg. Avec les bonnes mâchoires installer sur l’outil, j’ai obtenu un résultat professionnel. J’ai travaillé dans le domaine de l’électricité pendant bon nombre d’années avec de l’équipement beaucoup plus dispendieux et professionnel, donc je ne me faisais pas de grandes attentes avec cet outil. À ma grande surprise tout a été à merveille ce qui me permet d’avoir grande confiance dans les connecteurs que j’ai installé. L’outil est un peu difficile à utiliser ( j’ai eu besoin d’une troisième main pour bien faire le travail) car tout l’ensemble (Cable,connecteur et outils) sont difficiles à tenir en place pendant le début de la compression. Par la suite il suffit de pomper jusqu’à ce que les mâchoires de la pince de referment complètement et le tour est joué!!

I bought this because it was the most powerful offered. The only factor I don't like is that I'll have to build a stand as its too big to operated with one hand. But is sure works good and the dies are neatly stored in the case. The size stamp on the dies is not visible when stored, they should have put the stamp on the top of the dye where its immediately visible.

*UPDATE*I bought some Knukonceptz 4/0 wire and copper lugs. The lugs just barely fit on the wire as it's a little oversized. I tried the 2/0 dies on the lug and got excellent results. The crimp was just right. Although I did have to rotate the lug 180 degrees to finish as the die is just so slightly too small. Glad it worked! I'll add a star for this!It's supposed to be a one hand operate but it is hard to hold with all the weight at the end. The grip is too wide that you need to hold the handle and operate the lever with one finger. Or you can lay it down and operate but not possible in the air. The dies are so-so. If you want to crimp lugs that have a seam then you may need to size down. They crimp tightly but leave a seam on either side.

The top and bottom all became loose and lost hydraulic pressure.The only way to tighten it up is to have it all twisted and misaligned.Then it’s useless.DO NOT BUY

It does work. I use this and then also use the hammer style on the back of the lug for extra reassurance. The cutters work wonderful that come with it as well. Great to have in any shop or work truck/welding rig. Works nice on big lugs to welding lead. Little heat Shrink afterwards makes them nice.

It won't build up the pressure when making the crimp .after about 6 crimps.not worth it
