There are a lot of the solar post lights on the market, all of various styles and sizes. This particular set looked good in the pictures but when I received them, I noticed that the light emitting area was smaller than my other post lights. These post lights provide accent but don't expect them to light the way very well. When you disassemble the new units, you will have a tape to pull to allow the internal rechargeable battery to let its energy flow. There is a little button you can press next to it that will change the light from warm to cool. The solar charger/light and lens attach to one of two bases that will allow placement onto 4-5" posts. I have 4" PVC covered posts, so I used the smaller base. But I also had to remove the small square reducer frame from inside to get the full 4"-inch coverage. These lights, unlike unlighted post caps, are shallow fitting. You can set them on the post without the included screws to anchor them, or to prevent winds and kids from popping off the lights, you should use the screws to secure them. The rechargeable batteries are warranted for 1 year. But considering the low cost for these lights, it is almost cheaper to buy new lights rather than replacing the batteries. I only give them 4 stars because they fit so shallowly and that the lighting section seems so small as compared to other solar post lights.

I purchased the APONUO Solar Post Cap Lights to add a touch of elegance and functionality to my outdoor space, and I couldn’t be happier with them. Here’s why I love these lights:1. Easy Installation:Installing these lights was a breeze! The set comes with everything you need, and I was able to install them on my 4x4 fence posts in just a few minutes. No wiring required, and the instructions were clear and simple to follow.2. Bright and Attractive Lighting:These lights give off a nice, warm glow that’s perfect for adding ambiance to my deck and garden. They’re bright enough to illuminate the posts and surrounding area, but not too bright to be overpowering. They look great both during the day and at night!3. Two Lighting Modes:The ability to switch between two modes (bright and dim) is a fantastic feature. The lights automatically adjust based on the time of day and weather conditions, but you can also manually switch modes to suit your preference. I love that they’re energy-efficient with the solar-powered design.4. Weather-Resistant and Durable:Living in an area with unpredictable weather, I need outdoor lights that can withstand the elements. These lights are IP64 waterproof, so they’re holding up perfectly to rain, wind, and even snow. The quality of the materials seems excellent, and they feel sturdy and durable.5. Auto On/Off Feature:The auto on/off feature is a huge bonus! The lights turn on automatically when the sun sets and turn off at dawn, so I don’t have to worry about manually switching them. It makes them super low-maintenance.6. Elegant Look:The sleek black design looks fantastic on my fence posts and adds a modern touch to my yard. They blend in beautifully and make my outdoor space look even more inviting.Overall, I’m thrilled with these solar post cap lights! They’re well-made, stylish, and functional. Whether you’re looking to enhance your garden, deck, or patio, these lights are an excellent choice. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to add both beauty and practicality to their outdoor space!

I really like these solar post cap lights from APONOU. They’re quality made, low profile, and are brighter than an older set they are replacing. We installed them on our privacy vinyl fencing surrounding our deck in just a matter of minutes, right out of the box. We simply needed to remove a spacing insert (a butter knife or thin bladed screwdriver that works well for this task) and then set them on the posts. The fit is not perfect as the light’s post opening is slightly larger than our 4x4 inch vinyl posts. I tried taking a small piece of vinyl foam tape (white window weather stripping) and put on one side of the post. That cinched it right up though I have only done one light that way to date as these lights are extremely low profile and the wind doesn’t seem to affect them, even when it’s really gusty. Also, there are holes for securing them to the post but I really don’t want to drill holes in our vinyl posts. The lights are well constructed and work well. I like the choice of either warm or cool white light and currently have them set to the cool white as that seems some brighter which is appreciated on a dark winter’s night by our pups. They’re intuitive to set up and operate even if you’ve never had solar lights before or are not a hard core DIY’er.My only regret is we didn’t order the 12 pack as I was unsure of how well these lights would work. Our deck, which is fairly large, has 12 vinyl posts. I ordered the 6-pack this time. I’m going to order more of these lights but think this time it will be the 12-pack to have ample spares in case these are like my old lights we’re replacing. Those lights have lasted a couple of years and though I tried replacing the batteries, not all would work and had something far more serious beyond my skills to troubleshoot. My wife didn’t want a mix-and-match set so I was on the hunt for a new set when I settled on these. In any event, I like these lights enough to go with them for the next couple of years and am pretty sure they’ll hold up well.
