Great softbox for closeups to headshots. Works with LED and strobe lighting. Deployment is very easy with the mount being folding and clicked into place, so you don't have to worry about rods potentially popping out like other brands. The diffuser panels and grid install easily with Velcro as well. With the provided bag you can also carry and store it easier because the unit folds flat, so no need for a rounded bag to fit the Bowens mount.

I've worked a lot with the second generation of Aputure Light Domes, so I was excited to try out this third generation! The quality is top notch, as it always is with Aputure light products! I pair this guy with my Godox light while filming videos.The only drawback, and maybe it's just me, is I find it really hard to open the new release plate and close it. So, I just keep it set up in my apartment, lolI use it mainly for product videography and lighting myself for videos where I speak to camera and it is perfect for that.

I’m a content creator and influencer who does a lot of live streaming and video recording. This is absolutely fantastic at diffusing light into more of a soft ambiance for my live streaming. It’s a little difficult to set up and take down for my wife, but I didn’t have a problem with it. Just be aware that it could be an issue for some. I also leave it up so it's not an issue. If I had to do it all the time, I can see it being a problem for some people. Overall, this is a super high quality product that’s worth the premium.

This softbox is super easy to setup and gives a lot of flexibility. I mounted this to a Neewer sl60w with ease, I also have some Alien Bees lights I plan on using this with. No odd light leaks or strange shadow casts, and no color shift or anything like that.The dish is made of rippstop nylon material with a reflective interior smooth black outer. The edge ring is the loop side of velcro. The diffuser is also a ripstop that is lined with hook velco. It is very easy to attach, you just need to work your way around the edges,leave some room around the outside if you also plan on putting on the grid for a more focused, yet soft light.This opens up and folds down in seconds. Just fold the one side over, click the lock into place and you're read to mount.This starts as a small package that easily unfolds to a great light modifier. Perfect for storing when not in use or travel. Way better than my other softboxes that I have to feed rods into place or just store assembled because its just easier. Those don't get used for travel anymore and I will be looking to get another one of these small ones along with the full size box to fill out my portable kit.

This is the 2nd aputure light dome I got. I love how easy it is to setup and take down. I can get this soft box all by myself in 30 seconds, no assistants needed at all. One thing I do have to mention is that when taking down the soft box, need to be careful with the release button. There is quite a bit of tension, so when pull on the release button/lever, the whole soft box will snap, if not careful with your fingers, or face, it can really cause some damage. so be very careful with it.

Have been a long-term fan of the Aputure Lights. The Light Dome version 3 now gets even better with a one-second setup. The Bowen mount comes with 2 parts so that only one click will finish the expansion.The setup comes with a carrying bag, the Light Drone, the Modifier, Diffusion Cloths, and the honeycomb.Compared to the normal version of the Light Drone, the mini version is more useful in tight spaces and product shooting. Very happy with the product!

This is a great softbox. I recently used it for some headshots I took and it worked great. It may take a time or two to get used to setting it up and breaking it down as it is quite tight when it is snapped together, but once up, it holds its shape beautifully and it is really easy to install the grid if needed. The size of this softbox is perfect for lighting individuals or very small groups, 2-3 people. And all of the materials feel well made and durable. Plus, it packs away nice and flat so you don't need to worry as much about damaging the more delicate metal supports. Great design and value.

The APUTURE Mini III Parabolic Light Dome comes in a carrying case that also contains 1 white diffuser layer and grid and a gold paper insert.The set-up of this product is a pleasure -- the one-click quick release system is super easy and quick to do. There's just one lock button that holds the entire dome open. Breakdown of the dome is done by just pressing this single button again.The diffusion layer and grid attach via Velcro and that can be done fast as well.The APUTURE mini III dome works for me very well when I am using it on a product shooting table or when using a mobile LED light on-location. Depending on the situation and scene, I can use it on a light stand / mini light stand or just using it in a hand-held manner.That mini version fills a niche with regard to use scenarios -- the built quality is very good, just as expected from APUTURE.
