Unimpressed with the sander. The pad is weak. It doesn’t hold up well to even slightly pushing against the edge. Here is what I was left with after a very short period of time.

La tête de ponçage est laissé libre par un roulement.Peu importe la vitesse de votre machine la tête de ponçage ne tourne donc pas.Je peux carrément poser mon doigt sur la tête avec la machine en fonctionnement, la tête reste totalement libre et donc s'arrete dés qu'elle entre en contact avec une surface.

This tool works great, to sand uneven surfaces. Better than anything else I tried. Aggressive enough to take out marks in the wood but not aggressive enough to screw up and make new ones in if that makes sense.

This has really improved my sanding capabilities and the results on my turned wood pieces. Personally, I bought other sanding discs and put adhesive velcro on the circular pad. Just was not wild about the screw and rubber grommet thing in the middle of the sanding disc. It works great and I am happy with the attachment and the changes I made with the velcro.

This mini sander sounded just what i was looking for but after reading some of the reviews i began to have doubts, I have the Arbortech ball gouge and i`m v pleased with it so i decided to give the sander a go. I have to say i am really pleased with the results ( see photos ) This tool, like the ball gouge has been well thought out and engineered to a high standard. Arbortech tools may seem expensive but they are well worth it and will save hours of hand work. I highly recommend the tried and test ball gouge and mini contour sander.

I am kind of confused about this product. I was excited to use this sander to smooth out some fine and intricate contours in a piece of wooden art I am making.Attaching this sander to my angle grinder was easy. Comes with a variety of sandpaper. My only gripe, a big one, is that the sandpaper kept flying off. There is a piece of plastic that you screw on that holds the sandpaper in place. This piece of plastic would not hold and eventually broke off. The screw may have stripped but I don’t think so. I’ve been woodworking for a few years now and am fairly handy.May have been a melon but I had to send this sanding attachment back. I finished this project with another sander and some handwork.

Arbortech è ormai una delle marche secondo me più affidabile per questo genere di oggetti, e questo accessorio non è da meno. Lo consiglio vivamente chi cerca un random sander di queste dimensioni ridotte, promosso a pieni voti!

Yes, I LOVE this tool, along with the other Arbortech tools that I have, Arbortech Turbo Plane, and Arbortech Mini Turbo Plane.I live in the Redwoods of Northern California, and I work with found wood. This type of woodworking involves shaping wood more so than cabinetmaking and such work that involves flat surfaces.Before I found these three tools, I spent over $200 on four or five backing pads for my 6" orbital sander, along with about $40 worth of sanding disks, on the making of a (single) chair from a solid piece of redwood, as seen in the first two of my pic's below. This same job could have been done with the $145 Arbortech Turbo Plane, and this $100'ish Arbortech Contour Random Sander, along with the much less spent for the sanding disks.So I've been using my Turbo Plane and Mini Turbo Plane for about a two years now, still haven't sharpened the blades. Consider, with an initial purchase of the Arbortech Turbo Plane, along with, this, Arbortech Contour Random Sander, which comes to about $250, you will save, literally, MANY $100's, over the years of service that these tools will serve.Then there are three photos of the bowl made with the Arbortech Turbo Plane and Arbortech Contour Sander, I don't know any other tools that would do this kind of work, and for sure not as well, as these tool were made to THIS kind of work.Since I first purchased the Arbortech Contour Random Sander the product has been upgraded with a Teflon insert to attach the disk with a screw, instead of the glue attached disks that came with the original sander, when I bought it. This upgrade completes this product. No longer the (glued to pad) disks flying off prematurely.Bottom Line: No other tools can do what these tools can do, (as far as I know,) without having to spend, possibly, many hundreds of dollars, even for a single project, with many more projects to come, after the tools pay for themselves.Thank You Arbortech,

I purchased this tool in order to do detail sanding on the curved areas (sides, head-stocks, etc) of guitars at TK Instruments.My only complaints are:1: It's a bit too long, so its kind of awkward to use at first.. It would be quite a nice improvement if it was about 1.5" shorter2: In order to make it work as a random orbital sander, you'll want to start the tool while it's being pressed on the item you are sanding, otherwise it spins-out and can leave nasty swirl marks on your project.{because of this issue, it really helps a lot if you use a variable speed control pedal}.However, once you get used to the slight awkwardness of it (again; due to it's length), the results can be quite nice.Another thing I feel I need to mention is, the sandpaper that comes with this little unit is fantastic!It never flies off during strenuous use, it's very durable and long lasting, so I think I'll stock up on it.(I really hope they never go out of business, because I don't know if I could ever find any other 2" PSA sandpaper discs quite like these).There really is nothing else out there like this (I have looked!)...And sanding the edges of guitars is exhausting work by hand, so this little critter really helps me out a lot!It's not perfect, but if it were ever lost or stolen I would definitely need to purchase another.
