Looks nice, no issues installing.The metal is thin. It's sturdy but feels cheap. You can tell it's made of sheet metal. It rattles a little when the door is shut. Outside dimension was fine. Probably good quality. Inside opening dimensions need to be specific. A cross section would have helped. I had to return the item. I would have to hire a carpenter to cut my existing opening to make this work. Too much trouble.

Using this in a through-the-wall application, not through a door. Nice, substantial weight and with an opening larger than all other letter size slots I have been looking at. Very pleased with this hard-to-locate size mail slot.Update: Regarding the description that the "Very large opening will accommodate small packages", the packages would have to be VERY small/flat. For example, a box of personal checks, which I would consider a "small" package, would most definitely not fit through this. And, certainly not a magazine.

This was purchased as a replacement for a tarnished mail slot box . It fit perfectly and was easy to install. The brass finish is beautiful and hopefully long lasting. So far, all of our magazines have fit through the slot, so it is as advertised.
