I replaced a bent jack on my enclosed trailer with this one. It is way heavier and easier to use. With the telescoping leg, I can get it up out of the way so it doesn't hit anything. It is a very nice jack.

I did a class 2 beam load test with it and had to stop when the wooden beam failed at 6,600 lbs. It would not allow me to crank any more load with out crushing the wood. My scale was placed 3x distance from the center point and showed a 1,100lb max needle movement before creeping back to a lighter load reading.3x1,100 lbs = 3,300lb load (half the test beam) X 2 = 6,600lb.That result makes me feel that it will "for sure" be able to lift the claimed 7,000lb capacity as advertised. It does have an issue with the foot mount failing to keep a solid vertical stance as shown in a 5,500 lb load test on one side of a 20ft steal container. I suggest adding/welding some additional support to the base if you want to do any free standing lift operations.For lighter loads (under 5,000lbs) I welded a ledge across the side of the column with intentions of adding several more below, spaced about 2 1/2 inches apart to create ladder steps for placing a hook device at different levels. The frame of my bracket is 1/8" x 2" hot rolled steel and was able to hold while lifting the corner of the steel container. Your designs will vary.Cranking against loads above 6,000lbs is not easy so be warned. It does have a lot of potential as a base structure for your lifting needs but could use a better welded base. Also, open it up and add some more good grease to the gear drive. There is no grease fitting which should be a must for this design. There is no access to apply grease to the threaded nut and screw section unless you disassemble it completely. This is not a ball bearing machine so the axles are quite vulnerable to load friction. At best, it will receive 3 stars in my shop.

This does require having a welded part on your trailer. Mine had it from a previous Jack and this fit perfectly. So much smoother than my old bulldog.
