FAQ's

Q: What happens to the hair?

A: It flows through your pipes until it reaches a water treatment plant. It is then filtered out of sewage and sent to a landfill where it will decompose.

Q: Will this work in my sink?

A: No, DrainFunnel is made specifically for bathtub drains with internal crossbars.

Q: Should I use a DrainFunnel if I get deep pipe clogs?

A: Definitely not! We recommend a hair catcher in that case.

Q: What if I'm on septic?

A: All septic systems are different. Most can handle hair, but ask your septic technician to be safe.

This was super simple to install and comes with 2 sizes. I've been using in shower/bath for about a year and haven't had any issues. Defintely notice no more clogging or slow drainage. If you need to take a bath, I think its easy enough to pop out and in. I just bought a basic old-school rubber drain plug to put in its place.

Works exactly as advertised and I’ve had no issues with it so far.

I have long hair that was constantly plugging our drain. I had bought silicone drain covers for our tub that would collect hairs but those turned into having piles of hair constantly on our water spout and standing water while we shower. They just weren’t working. I saw this on TikTok a while ago and when it came to getting a new solution for our shower, I thought I’d give this a try. I’ve had it for three months and haven’t had standing water in my shower since. Everything just slips right down the drain! It works!!!

I thought the idea of this was too simple to really work, but I was desperate for a solution and swayed by a TikTok video. I had tried other solutions, but couldn’t keep them clean, so they weren’t helping. It took me a long time before I installed this. It didn’t work with our drain type. So we replaced our current stopper with a simple drain since we have two other tubs we use for baths and only use this for a shower. (I hear they might be making a stopper to go with this, so I’m keeping an eye out for the rare times I might need one.) But now it’s been more than two months and not a single clog! No backed up water! I could cry from joy!

We have a pretty standard UK drain, but this product is to deep for the drain, so can't use at all.

I have had this for a year now and I initially thought it was the best thing ever. Hair in the shower is such a pain and I thought this solved in. However, the quality went down and down. Towards the end of me using this product, my drain would still get clogged and I would have to clean it. Today, my shower drain clogged and I had no idea why. With a drain snake, I uncovered TWO HANDFULS OF DENSE HAIR. This leads me to believe that this contraption only made the issue worse, as I have never had this issue before in my 14 years of living in this house. I do not advise you to buy this!!

I’ve been using the drain funnel for a few months. I thought it was going well until I noticed my water want going down fast enough. It is slower than without the funnel because it’s “funneling” - but this was different. I always felt the funnel fit kind of odd. The slope of the funnel would lean up instead of down and was hard to maneuver into its perfect place. But now that it water was backing up I removed the funnel to find that a few hairs were catching on the crossbar even though you can’t see it. And now I feel like the water continues to get backed up. I know it needs to “fit” you’re tub right or it won’t work, but it did fit.

When you first turn it on the water coming down makes the insert become unsettled or even removed from the drain.

Was super excited to try this out as the idea sounded great, but the product didn't work with our drain. Mid shower the funnel would come out from the drain and wouldn't stay. Tried the smaller size with the same issue. I do not know if we used it incorrectly or if the product just doesn't work with drains that have the chain connected for the stopper.

After the first few showers you think the funnel works but then afterward it starts to clog. The hair went through the funnel but still gets stuck later in the drain. After a few weeks I used the snake tool and pulled so much hair out. Maybe it's just my bathtub plumbing but I do not recommend this product. I will go back to using the typical bathtub drain.

This is a big waste of money if you live in the UK - it does not fit with a standard Uk plug hole!

I have tried all kinds of hair traps and different things for my drain to collect hair. They get all gunky and gross and don’t do a great job at catching the hair. The hair it does catch, I’d have to constantly clean it out so that my water could drain through. However, with this, the hair goes down my drain and doesn’t get tangled up and stuck. I’ve been using it for about 6 months or so now and have had no issues with clogs. Every now and then, I will have to readjust the insert so it sits correctly and the hair can pass through as it’s meant to but it just takes a second to push it back down and it’s good to go. I will take it out and wash it sometimes as build up from soap and conditioner collects but the material just rinses off with a little rubbing under hot water.
