They cut in areas are bigger than original, allowing for more heat to reach the dome, also lighter in weight compared to original. I definitely saw a difference in my first cook with it.

This plate sitter is vastly different dimensions than the original BGE plate sitter and doesn't fit in the standard BGE plate sitter rack attachment on the side of the BGE. It's also like half the height of the original one, like barely 2 inches total where original seemed much higher.

The item arrived timely and well packed. It is advertised to fit the medium Big Green Egg (18") and it does but not as well as I had hoped. If you center it on the rim it functions as intended. There is however, a 1/2 inch gap on all three sides. If you set the deflector on the rim next to the side to eliminated the gap on one of the three sides, the deflector would miss the rim on the other 2 sides and go down into the Egg below the rim. I am careful to space the deflector accordingly when placing it in the Egg but would like it to be more fool-proof.

Bought this heat deflector for a Primo Round Kamado. It was a little smaller than the Primo rack but fit. It would be possible to accidentally knock it off the fire box but it is heavy enough that it did not move even when I was taking a 15 pound brisket on and off.Also, the legs lift the grill grate to nearly flush with the lid which is awesome. And, when you flip it over, the bottom is nearly flush in case you want to bake a pizza or something on it.Overall, it works very well with the Primo Round (not oval) grille.
