I’ve been looking for gaffers tape for a while and I finally found it. It works well and that was the job and it leaves no residue on anything you stick it to. Highly recommend it.

Seems like I can never have enough Gaff tape. This tape feels more plastic than cloth and is a little shinier. However it does have a good feel to it and performs similarly. You can rip it across to tear it but it won't tear just by pulling it. It is still strong. I'm using it primarily for marley on a dance floor but it is also working well for cable. I think the feel may be a coating on the cloth to make it waterproof. I would get this tape again.
