BOJACK High-Quality Organic Type Thermal Fuses
Thermal Fuse Characteristics:
It consists of a sliding contact, a spring, and an electrically
nonconductive thermal pellet. Before the thermal fuse is activated,
current flows from the left lead to the sliding contact and through
the metal housing to the right lead. When the external temperature
reaches a predetermined temperature, the organic matter
meltsand the compression spring becomes loose. That is, the
spring expands and the sliding contact is separated from the
left lead. The circuit is opened and the current between the sliding
contact and the left lead is cut off.
Widely used in:Transformers, Electric motors, Electric fans, Hair dryers,
Electric irons, Rice cookers, Copiers, Electric stoves, Chargers,
power taps, Water dispensers, Coffee makers etc.

I only needed one, but who knows? It only took me five minutes to change out the one in my waffle iron and now my waffle iron is as good as new.

I replaced the open thermal fuse in my Honeywell electric fan with one of these, and it now works perfectly - and I still have 9 fuses left! These fuses have long enough leads to bend as needed, and to solder without overheating the fusible element, although I strongly recommend using a heat sink on the leads when soldering. I made a heat sink by using small alligator clips to hold strips of sheet metal to the leads while soldering the connections.
