The base is rather light and won't counterbalance the weight of my laptop. But this would be perfect for reading, and has a reading light included

**EDIT 8/10/2024**I've been using this stand whenever I use my computer, which is almost daily, since I posted my review. I just wanted to come back here and say that I am still so happy that I tried this stand. It really does help with keeping me sitting upright in my chair and my posture is so much better now. Thank you for reading. :)**Original Review 7/26/2024**I recently started having neck and upper back pain, and I know it is because I started spending more of my work day at my desk, hunched over my laptop. Looking for some relief I decided that I should try to raise my computer so that I'm looking straight ahead and not down. I got this stand and I can tell the difference just after a few days. The pain is going away! It's easy to adjust the stand up and down and put the screen at just the right angle.I found that I now have more room on my desk for my USB keyboard and other things I need to have hearby because I'm not limited by the computer's footprint. Things can go under the stand and out of the way. I clipped the light to my hutch and aimed it at my keyboard, so helpful that they added that! It is bright enough to shed light on the keys and its rechargeable. Nice touch.I also brought the stand out to the kitchen. I put it and the computer on the counter. It was really handy to have my computer nearby in the room for recipes or to play music. The fact that it's up off of the counter gives me more space to work. I like the fact that it swivels, so I can easily adjust it to see the screen from anywhere in the kitchen. The mechanism that turns it has detents, it clicks as it’s turning, and I like that it takes a bit of conscious effort, meaning that it's not going to turn by accident. The metal construction is very sturdy, and there's no concern that it is going to tip over with my computer on it. Very nice looking design with the woodgrain top and black finish. At less than 3.5 pounds, it's easy to carry from room to room. I'm using a Chromebook with an 11 inch screen. It's not a heavy laptop, it is well under the weight limit of 22 pounds listed for this particular stand. So glad I ordered this, and my neck and back are too!

Amazing for my law school casebooks! Very sturdy. The page holder don't always work for the very thick books but honestly aren’t really necessary.

I purchased this book stand for my daughter's use at her school desk. It works just perfectly. It is a nice addition to the desk for getting work done and conserving space. The page holders are flimsier than expected but are getting the job done. I plan to super glue the rubber ends on the page holders however as our kitten was able to remove one. That is a possible choking hazard to others with pets and small children! Just a heads up to others interested in purchasing this book stand. The book light is a nice plus! We have noted a couple times the light dimmed even while plugged in and not plugged while in use. Not sure if it was due to it getting hot or the longevity of the LED's is already about out. Not too concerned as I already have a book list on "the list". All in all, the book stand itself is a great purchase.
