I just bought it in Oct 2024 didn't start using it till Dec 2024 and I'm already having to replace it in Feb 2025. It's supposed to be super beast sure don't seem like it since I'm having to buy another one so soon!

We have an overactive 125 lb lab. He will pull against the leash everytime a truck drives by. We have to replace about every 6 month because she breaks the link. Other than that it's pretty hardy.

Cable works really well. Hooks are strong. The only thing that seams to break these down is the cold and sun. After a while the plastic shell starts to break down. Still very much worth the money.

I have a dog that seems to be able to get out of the standard clasps. So I was looking these heavy duty clasps and chain. I have been using for over 3 months and they have worked fantastic.

Update jan, 2025The cable lasted exactly 1 year before it snapped on half. I guess it's about what's to be expected. It was left outside all year long in Chicago weather. The clasp did get a little rusty in the vinyl broke apart in a few places but overall it was a good cable. It never twisted causing problems. Somehow got knotted but that never caused a problem. I have to get used to the clasp because it opens inward but to me that's a better safety measure. When it broke I thought I was ordering another one of these but instead ordered one that was very similar looking to this Boss product. The clasp actually broke apart. on that one. I sent that one back and now I'm buying another one of these.1st reviewI like this cable because it is truly heavy duty. A lot of the companies advertising these dog tie out cables cable advertisements they they'll hold 100 ,200 or 300 lb dog when clearly they won't.. this one will definitely hold my 120 pup that likes to charge the privacy fence upon my neighbor's dogs arrival outdoorsI have a lot of experience with these tie out cables and this appears to be one of the best. Know that the cable and clasp are heavy duty. The clasp is so heavy that it really isn't suited for any dog except large boned dogs and maybe and not suitable for small or medium dogs.I haven't used it yet but will update this post if anything changes.

AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTO THE PLASTIC CRACKS WHENEVER IT'S COLD OUTSIDE AND AS THE DOG WORKS THE CABLE BACK AND FORTH RUNNING AROUND THE YARD, THE CRACK BECOMES A BIG GAP AND THE CABLE BEGINS TO KINK. NEXT THING YOU KNOW THE CABLE IS FLEXING AND IT BREAKS. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THREE OF THESE SINCE WRITING THE INITIAL REVIEW. THEY DO NOT LAST! The style of the clips are not intuitive, and don't work like any other clip I've ever seen. However once you learn to operate them they are perfectly fine. The dog can chew through the rubber coating exposing the steel wire at that point I'm sure they would rust through the braids like any other cable tie out. However this cable is the thickest I've ever seen, it does not kink as easily as any other brand. My dog only weighs 50 lb but was constantly breaking All the tie out cables rated up to 160 lb. This cable is holding her just fine!
