This is a cute little set that I hope my daughter will enjoy. As other reviewers mentioned, the paints are actually gouache, but can still be used with this little set. My daughter likes to go camping and packs very light—I’m hoping she’ll take this with her to capture some of the beautiful things she sees in nature. It is small and compact but seems well-made enough to hold up to backpacking, and because the paper that comes with it is very tiny, I may get one of those postcard-sized watercolor tablets so she has “bigger” paper to work with.

The quality of this is great and it is just soooo tiny. Like itty bitty. Really adorable and easy to use. The paint quality seems good as well. The amount of brushes it comes with is great and they are all different sizes. Great little travel paint set.

This is the cutest little palette, I love that it's so pocketable. The sketchbook is made of really nice watercolor paper that takes the color well and is the perfect size for the palette.A few things to note (absolutely not deal breakers!);- the paints are actually gouache, which is a more pigmented and more opaque paint than watercolors. This (to me) is actually a huge bonus because I find that water brushes tend to make watercolors more transparent than painting with regular brushes. Gouache really keeps the colors vibrant while maintaining that softness of a watercolor style paint.- the brush water reservoirs screw on backwards! Keep in mind when you go to unscrew them that they're righty loosy lefty tighty, otherwise you will be twisting them and twisting them and they won't open up and you might break them.Overall seriously an adorable set, good quality, a great gift for the artists in your life.

It actually came with Guache instead of water color tubes. But, it works nearly the same, just a bit more opaque. The book has nice quality paper and the book is so cute. The palette has magnets to attach them together, and the clip holds the palette to the book so that you can use it one handed. There are a variety of waterbrush size tips for bigger and detail work. Just add some paper towels or tissue to wipe the brushes with and you have a nice little kit.

This set looks adorable and well put together at first glance. The palette and tiny sketchbook complement each other perfectly. The paper is of good quality, and I’d categorize it as mixed-media paper—it works well with watercolors. The water brushes are standard and function as expected.However, there are a few things I didn’t like, which is why I gave it 4 stars. The quality of the gouache paint isn’t great, especially since it’s not very opaque. The white, in particular, doesn’t offer much opacity, making it difficult to build up layers. Some of the brushes, though useful, don’t fit well with the palette because they can’t fit into the pigment wells or the mixing area. Additionally, the set includes 12 paint tubes, but the palette only has 8 wells.For these reasons, I don’t think the set is very well thought out.

This is a really cute little set. It would make a great gift for an artist or watercolor painter. I know the actual pallet is so so so very small. I didn't get it to put the watercolor in that actual pallet as for the most part, it will only hold a drop. I do love how those little wooden pallets look though so I'm going to put some colored resin in there and use it on my bookshelf with the little sketchbook when I fill the sketchbook. The water pens are great particularly if you want to travel with your paints.

I've watched artists on social media that make plain air paintings using a very similar setup. The watercolor paper pad is TEENY TINY -- pay attention to the item description and photos so you aren't taken aback when the actual item arrives.There are a bunch of water brushes and a full set of 12 gouache paints you can use to fill the wells in the palette. You'd probably not take the paints with you after you've filled the palette, but if you want to bring all the brushes, you'll have more than a cute, portable but functional, miniature set. Personally, I like having more items to choose from but will probably only take one brush anyway.This set is a great value and would make a lovely gift.
