I guess I should have ordered a shorter cable.Once you get it uncoiled a bit it turns into a tangled mess. As a one time pro cable guy I like the stuff in the box that feeds out a hole in the box less chance for a rats nest that way.yeah ya have to terminate it your self. But other than that it was a cheap and quick fix for my needs

Using this on a mini-switch that is linked to a signal booster by TP-Link. This ethernet in particular goes from the mini-switch to my home server. Works great and I havent had any issues so far, recommended.

I work from home and new job requires my laptop be hardwired, no wifi. Since my modem is in a very inconvenient location not suitable for a desk, I’m able to run this cable to my office to work until a permanent cable is installed. Quick and cheap fix meanwhile.

This cable is not made from the same construction as you would see in higher quality cables. This cable is much thinner, flexible and made very cheaply as compared to what I deem a normal Ethernet patch cable would be. Plastic jacket on the wire is very thin and flexible and in my opinion will not hold up to any kind of mild abuse over the test of time. That being said, the cable did test OK and does work. If you are looking for a CAT5e cable at the cheapest price and using this for home use where it will not be subject to any kind of abuse, then I would say you will be fine. The advantages would be that the cable is somewhat thinner than a commercial patch cable and would be easier to run around baseboards etc. If you are in a commercial environment, I would not recommend this cable and go with something much higher grade as it may not last that long over the test of time if subject to any kinds of abuse. When I say abuse, I'm taking about a cable on the floor under a desk where someones feet constantly come in contact with it, or it gets pulled accidentally repeatedly or run over by a chair or something heavy sits on it or crimps it. Not that any of what I mentioned should be done to any cable, but let's face it, these things happen.So there you have it. It works, it's made cheap, it costs much less than more expensive cables. Recommend for cheap home use. Do not recommend for Commercial or Business environments. If the construction was better, would have given (5) Stars. Govern yourself accordingly.

In my IT Support practice I keep cables in stock. Cable Direct is one of my preferred brands. Their Cat5e cables have provided excellent service. In a lot of customer environments wires end up in a "rats nest" so the very well done anti-snag is a plus when untangling. I have found they perform reliably and hold up well to frequent plug-in, and unplug cycles. Reliability is my main criteria for network cables and Cabled Direct has delivered for years.The anti-snag strain-relief is well designed for the tight spaces on some computer's LAN jacks. You can slide the rubber anti-snag to the side to depress in the release tab in tight spaces. Good design.These are flexible CAT5e cables and this makes them easy to work with in racks or in wiring channels.This cable is well made and is at a very economical price. I've had great luck with Cables Direct Cat5e cables in the past. Not having to worry about connection failures makes these 5 stars for me.
