This beautifully crafted knife set is nearly too pretty to use. It’s sharp as expected and holds a nice sharp edge after regular use. This seems to be intended and would be perfect as a gift. The wooden box is equally beautiful with magnetic closure. While the price is a bit higher than basic budget knives this delivers and really is a beautiful addition to our kitchen.

This is a really excellent knife and fork set. Both ooze quality, they look and feel superb quality. Well balanced, easy to use and sturdy, I am positive these two will outlast me. Good and sharp right out of the box. This would make an excellent gift for the meat lover in your life, or splurge and buy it for yourself.

As a proud owner of a Cangshan N1 series carving set, I was taken aback by how beautiful this carving set was. I enjoyed the simple, modern aesthetic of the N1 series, but this Damascus and wood pairing has a kind of timeless elegance to it. This set deservedly costs more than the N1 set does today, but it's well worth the price. The knife is impressively balanced and astoundingly sharp. The asymmetrical octagonal handle is unexpectedly comfortable. I saw that the knife is sharpened to 32 degrees, which is an odd angle that differs from a lot of sharpening systems I use. The wider angle gives the edge a bit more strength but it's an odd choice for what's essentially a slicer and not a cleaver. Either way the edge should keep very well and cuts like a dream right now.

This set is fabulous. From the box to the handle. The weight, the sharpness, the balance. A well designed set. I love the fork. It is designed well beyond what was necessary. Even the box is well thought out. It has magnets. Magnets!

Quick Overview: This Damascus carving knife and fork set is truly stunning, both in craftsmanship and performance. Razor-sharp out of the box, it slices effortlessly and has the kind of attention to detail that sets it apart from most modern kitchen tools. It’s a rare find in today’s world—something that actually feels heirloom quality. But at $179, I couldn’t help but think about how much food I could have bought instead.Pros:✔ Exceptional craftsmanship – The Damascus steel is beautifully forged, and every detail is executed with precision. This is not a mass-produced afterthought—it’s a true work of art.✔ Incredible sharpness – Straight out of the packaging, this blade could shave arm hair. When it comes to carving meat, it glides through effortlessly.✔ Attention to detail – From the balance to the fine etching in the blade, everything about this set exudes quality.✔ Heirloom-worthy – Most kitchen tools today are disposable, but this is built to last for generations. With proper care, this will outlive most of what’s in your kitchen drawer.Cons:✖ Handle design could be better – While the materials are high-quality, the handles feel slightly small and a bit slippery in my hands.✖ Storage situation makes no sense – It comes with a beautiful wooden storage box… but they ship it in wasteful cardboard and plastic. Why not just package it inside the nice box?✖ An extravagant gift – I’ve seen some people say this makes a great gift, and while that may be true, you must really like someone to drop $179 on a carving set.✖ The price stings – Let’s be honest, $179 for a tool you’ll likely use a handful of times per year is hard to justify.Tips:🔹 Hand wash only—dishwashing a knife of this caliber would be nothing short of criminal. My Take: I debated between 4 and 5 stars, and in the end, I just can’t justify the cost for something that will only see occasional use. The craftsmanship is truly outstanding, and this set is built to last for years, but at $179, I couldn’t ignore what else that money could buy. Given that the average Thanksgiving dinner for four cost about $58 in 2024, I could have covered three full holiday meals—with extra pie—rather than investing in a knife and fork I’ll only use a few times a year. I understand that quality like this is rare, and for those who want an heirloom-level carving set, this one absolutely delivers. But for my money, it’s a luxury rather than a necessity.**Just a note—I write my reviews to inform, but why not have a little fun while we’re at it? If I sound like a Colonial American Grandmother, rest assured, I probably wasn’t churning butter this morning… I think.Additional Info: As a Vine reviewer, I know my words might be the difference between someone buying or bolting from the "Add to Cart" button. Also, fun fact: I pay Uncle Sam about 40% of the product’s retail value in taxes—so trust me, I don’t sugarcoat. Here’s my rating system, boiled down:⭐ 1 Star: Nope. Hard pass.⭐⭐ 2 Stars: Slightly better than a dumpster fire.⭐⭐⭐ 3 Stars: Meh. Only if you’re desperate.⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 Stars: Solid, does the job, maybe even a little impressive.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 Stars: Love it! Would recommend (and buy again). When I talk pricing, I’ve compared it to similar stuff. No blind hype here—just the straight scoop.

This knife set is very pretty, but also very sharp. It feels good in the hand. The finishing is very nice, every part of the knife feels high end. It slices through meat like it’s butter. It also retains its edge very well. I am very pleased with it.

This set is gift and heirloom quality. I arrive very well packed for protection. The box alone is very impressive. Laser cut inserts fits the knife and fork perfectly. The box it'self is magnetic and just well built and has the pair etched on top.The knife is very sharp and very nicely balanced. I have a couple of these knives, I love the Damascus blades and how well they feel. Definately recommend.TADA!

I have been looking for a good carving ser for awhile. This one is fairly expensive, but is still a good value. Very sharp but I sharpened the knife all the same since a carving knife needs to be razor sharp. Thanksgiving was the test and the set performed as well as I'd hoped. Recommended!
