Installed the hinges today on a wood gate that I had built. As advertised, these are heavy duty hinges and they were surprisingly easy to install. However, the lag bolts provided are inadequate to support a gate that has any weight to it. Although they are an inch long, they only have a half inch of threads. You can't tighten them up adequately before they strip the hole. They are more decorative then functional. I ended up spending another $20 for 1/4 x 2" exterior lag screws.

screws that go into the aluminum post are philips which strip in a second, really???

I had a backyard fence door I wanted to bring up to code and part of that meant making it a self-closing door. These brackets worked great for that. The install was simple and now I no longer have to worry about the gardeners leaving the gate open and accidentally letting our dogs out. Now I just need to repeat the process on a couple other broken gate doors.
