Radius: Determine the desired radius based on your fishing location and target fish. A larger radius provides a wider coverage area, increasing the chances of catching fish. Durability: Choose a casting net that is built to last, with reinforced seams and strong stitching. This will prevent the net from tearing or unraveling during use. Portability: Consider the portability of the casting net, especially if you plan on taking it with you on fishing trips. Look for nets that are lightweight and easy to fold and store in your fishing gear.

This is a pretty well-made fishing net. It worked well while out fishing on my boat. It’s big enough for multiple fish. It seems to be a good value as well.

The net fell apart the day I unboxed it. I took it out to my front yard in the soft grass to practice and the net started breaking and separating from the sinker line. There was no dragging or pulling on it, just throwing and walking to it while rolling up the throw rope. Will be getting a refund. Skip this net, find a better one.

I ordered the 4' Casting Net for bait fishing in the surf since its an easier size for me to handle in the waves. The net is lightweight, which is nice for casting and retrieving in the surf, but the netting is thinner than my other nets, so I'm a little worried about it holding up over time when used in saltwater. It comes with a nice repair kit which is good because I anticipate the thinner net getting snagged and tearing easy even with moderate use. The weights are adequate for the size of the net, but they could be a little heavier to assist with casting and to help the net sink to the bottom quicker. A good amount of rope is provided so I can throw the net quite far, and the neoprene wristband makes it more comfortable than just looping the rope around my wrist. The addition of a microfiber cleaning cloth is a nice touch, and the plastic case it ships in is convenient for storage, but its also a bit thin so I don't anticipate it holding up for too long. Overall, this is a great starter casting set for a beginner or even a backup set for a seasoned fisherman.
