I ordered this Cheese Slicer with Stainless Steel Wire -5 Pack Adjustable Hand Held Cheese Cutter with 4 Extra Wires to make slicing cheese easier.I have a large slicer I use on my buffet table, but wanted something smaller and hand held for snacking. My teenage son loves cheese and crackers as a snack, especially for movie nights. I thought this would be easier to use than a knife and cutting board, and keep our living room tidier.As I write this, my son and husband are enjoying a movie and chowing down on cheese and crackers while using this hand sliver. They both gave the slicer an enthusiastic thumbs up—they said it was easy to use, and they liked how easy it was to adjust the width of slices.This cheese slicer is made from stainless steel and aluminum and comes with a cutting wire pre-installed, and four extra wires for replacement parts. These are quite small—I put them in a zippie bag with a bright colored index card that said REPLACEMENT WIRES FOR CHEESE SLICER so I didn’t lose them.The slicer has a knob that you twist to change the width of slices. My husband and son thought this was easy to use and convenient—my son loves thick slabs of his favorite smoked cheddar, and thinner slices of Jarlsberg, for example.The silver toned slicer is attractive enough to use for serving. It looks nice with our charcuterie boards, which are either black or honey stained. The stainless steel design will work well with many kitchen styles and decors.At the current price ($6.99) I think you get a lot of value. This cheese slicer is sturdy, well made, and comes with replacement wires.The sales page says this is dishwasher safe; it also says you can clean it with a rag or soap and water. I’ve been hand washing because I don’t know how the wire will hold up in the dishwasher. So far, I’ve found this easy to hand washing, being a touch cautious of the wire. It dries quickly on the countertop, ready for my teenage son’s next snack plate.This also has a hole in the handle, great to hang when drying, or for easy storage.
