It has a sharp, long blade with a nice handle and it does a pretty good job cutting cheese, but the light weight is a bit unnerving, I expect more heft to a tool like this. The thickness adjustment works, but the plastic is too flexible and you can easily cut slices of a different thickness just by busing on the guide with too much pressure. After using it for a short time, I was able to reduce a block of cheese to slices fairly easy.It would be a much better tool if it was more substantial.I like it in spite of it's shortcomings, and use it when I need to cut a lot of cheese.

I wanted this as it looks and sounds like a paper cutter, which is a great item to have. This does slice cheese and other items, the blade is sharp enough and thickness is adjustable. The problem I have is it feels a bit flimsy in the base and a bit cheap. I expected a bit heavier but as I said, it does do the job I'm just not sure for how long.

The description of this slicer had me thinking that it was much more elaborate than it is.The product is a combination of plastic and metal parts. The slice width guide is plastic also the flat handle at the end of the blade as well as the knob part on a simple spindle with which you can lock the blade in the down position. (That is a good feature because the leverage obtained by the length of the blade handle is quite sufficient for a child to fully sever one or more fingers. It is not a toy!The deck is a composition metal. There is no easy adjust to the width of slice. You have only a square shaft with a locking machine bolt and knob to set the distance between blade cut and guide that moves in synchronism with the blade. That of course limits the ability to place larger cheese blocks into the slicer and expect that your can just push and close the blade. Because only a small portion ot he blade and guide are available you will sltill need to take the time to keep your item being sliced in proper alighment with the edge of the cutting board.Keeping and edge on the knife can be done when needed using a simple steel. However you probably will not need to do this for some length of time. It might all depend on how often you want to have fun slicing something.I tested it on cucumbers, scallions, a pre-cut to fit piece of cheese, and a few celery stalks. The knife severed all easily and even widths that I selected, all even results when using painstaking visual alignment with the edge of the cutting board. It would be easy to store, and yes, probably pretty neat kitchen gadget for someone not accomplished with a fine Chefs Knife, something that I would prefer for all tasks described and then some. But that is just me.It was easy to clean. Just dump it in a sink of hot water with detergent drops added, swoosh it up and down a few times, and give it a rinse. Pat the parts with a paper towel. For the fact that it is hyped in the description, telling of features that do not exist, I can only give this gadget a three star rating. It does work if you learn to use it.It is small in size and certainly that is quite commensurate with the satisfaction that I got from the use of same.

This cheese slicer is a handy kitchen tool that is lightweight and easy to use. It cuts cheese and other foods effortlessly, and the thickness can be easily adjusted. It is dishwasher safe. However, it arrived quite dirty out of the package. The scale at the bottom is not very practical. It would be better if the blade could be released for sharpening. Overall, it is a good product with some minor drawbacks.
