The chickens love these feed and water attachments. They were super easy to install. We used a 5 gallon bucket. I like them because it gives them good fresh food and water without having to continuously refill it. They worked very well and I had no problems with the food releasing or the water. They're very easy to clean in the event that they get messy and they're the perfect size for the chickens. I think it's a great value because you get so many of them in the set. If you are looking for a great innovative way to feed your chickens then this is what you need!

These were very easy to add to standard 5 gallon buckets for watering chickens. I have two & the chickens took right to them. (Remember a 5 gallon bucket weighs about 40 lbs if you need to haul it somewhere to fill it) One thing to note is that the feeding ports need to go on a FLAT surface so I needed a square bucket/tote (I just bought a tote with a clasp handle top to keep any possible critters OUT & to keep the chickens from knocking the top off) so the ports would sit flush. Again no issues, chickens aren’t picky. I do have both the watering & feeder on elevated stands otherwise they were too low for the chickens to get into the feeding ports (and maximize the amount consumed from either container) Overall, I am very pleased, this also came with the drill & circle hole punch that attach to an ordinary drill head. Pretty good deal for someone just getting started with chickens. Highly recommended. Side note!!! this watering system WILL freeze up if you live somewhere where freezing is an issue. The little red cups fill by gravity & the hole to fill it is small (which is great the chickens cannot make a mess with it) I live in Michigan so by about mid November I needed to switch to my heated waterer to keep the water available to my chickens.

Theyfeeders do not have a flap covering the opening to keep critters out. I wish the description of the product included this information, I probably wouldn’t of bought it!

My birds had no trouble figuring these out. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that you ideally need to be able to access the inside of your containers. I used a couple of food-grade 58gal drums (which is probably overkill, but was what I could get in my area). Since my barrels narrow at the top, I couldn't actually reach the bottom where I was installing the feeders and waterers. So there was no way for me to actually screw on the nuts to secure these. After some research into non toxic adhesives that would stick to the plastic of both these and my barrels, I ended using just regular hot glue. I sanded around the holes I drilled in my barrels, and then the backs of the feeders and waterers. Seems to be holding well without leaks.Update: The waterers can come apart, and the springs get lost easily. Fortunately, their water wasn't located inside the coop, or else the whole thing leaking out would have been a disaster. I had to swipe a spring out of one of the uninstalled watering cups. These can be improved by making a hole through where the "pin" part of the cup is located, and inserting a small diameter rod (I used a brass one) all the way through both parts of the waterers to make a stronger attachment. It took some fiddling to get them to operate smoothly with the pins due to not getting the holes perfectly symmetrical, but they are much improved. Ideally, they would have been designed like this in the first place. I now know what to look for if I ever need more of these.
