As near as I can figure, the only purpose most woodworkers have for a dowel is to fit into a hole. I purchased three (3) 3-foot maple 3/8" diameter dowels. Not one of them fits into a 3/8" hole. They don't even fit into the metal guide hole for the drill bit. Don't waste your money on these dowels. I can't believe they even sell these. The only thing they're good for now is kindling next winter.
