Your cart is empty.ControlTemp CT72 Basic Tamper Proof Thermostats allow the landlord to control the heat and cool temperature settings. The tenant or employee will not be able to raise the heat higher than 72 and will not be able to lower the cooling lower than 72. This thermostat only works for Single stage HVAC Systems (conventional and heat pump systems) as well as heat only or cool only systems. It does NOT work with multi stage or electric baseboard systems. This thermostat is non programmable.

Testing this unit on my rental property for heating that I am currently using. This unit worked for a few weeks then It was stuck on heat with the temperature set to 66 or any other setting below 72 the thermostat was still calling for heat as confirmed with my zone controller. Once pulled from the back plate the heat shut off I was traveling at the time and my wife said the temperature rose to 88 degrees luckily the heating system was not damaged for running non stop for hours. What a waste of expensive natural gas with multiple properties owned I have about 30 different thermostat brands and types this was the worst one.

It works real good but the tenants will supplement the lost heat with oven heat, and if you're pay for gas and electricity, it defeats the purpose for a good T-stat, plus they can kill themselves because a stove wasn't made to heat a house and kids can walk into the open oven door

Perfect if you own apartments and pay for the tenant's heat. We had a couple of people take advantage and have the heat maxed and the windows open, so we switched to this and it has been great.

Installed these in my tenant's apartment and the oil bill was much lower this year. Now I also have new tenants so they might not have cranked the heat up anyhow, but it's nice to know that they can't abuse the "heat included" part of their lease.

This thermostat is great and easy to install if you've had to replace thermostats before. I used this thermostat on a rental property of mine where I pay the heat bill and the tenant abuses it.For heat: the temp caps out at 72 deg F. You can not set this thermostat higher than 72 deg F.Now one of the reviews said that this thermostat would let you SET the temp to whatever you want but would secretly cap at 72 deg F.For example my tenant could set it to 80 deg F and it would show 80 deg F on the selector display, but the internal programing would limit it to 72 deg F. This arrangement would be ideal for keeping a tenant happy without constant arguments/ or them trying to change thermostat when I'm not there.Unfortunately this is NOT HOW IT WORKS. Now it it's probably just misinformation from the review I read that got my hopes up, but this thermostat limits the display to 72 deg F. My point is, the tenant after trying to raise temp would definitely know the temp is being limited; they can not set it any higher than 72 deg F.The thermostat limits the temp great and will save you money. BUT is missing the secret programming feature I was hoping for that would keep a tenant legally comfortable yet blissfully unaware.
