If you have had to replace the "safety straps" on a Dodge truck's tailgate, you know that the Torx bit sets generally don't have the socket you need to remove the bolt that holds the hard mounted end. Dodge for some reason uses an odd size bolt there and you need this T-47 (not 45 or 50) to remove / install it. I can't tell anything about the tools life span, as I probably will never need to use this size again (I'm 70, the first strap lasted 20 years, I doubt I'll be here in another 20 years).Since I knew I would only be using this once, I tried the "free loaner tools" route with the local parts store, but their loaner Torx bit sets don't include this side, and they all told me that if I bought one separate off their rack it could not be returned for refund, only for exchange if damaged. Apparently they are well aware of how little used this size is and if they took returns they would be getting every one of them back. I could have returned this one to Amazon, but the price the day I bought it was so low it wasn't worth my gas to drive it back to the UPS Store for return.
