Why Use the Distributor？
During espresso brewing, it's common for an individual to tamp the loaded portafilter by pressing it on the countertop's edge with an espresso tamper. The biggest problem with brewing espresso is the human error of irregular compression, which causes channeling.
Channeling may be described as uneven compression distributed throughout the filter. Water finds the path of least resistance rather than evenly flowing through the entire bed. This channeling leads to improperly saturated grounds, and poorly brewed espresso, resulting in an unpalatable, bitter flavor.

Besides a good grinder for your beans, this distribution/tamper combo is everything you need for a perfect/consistent espresso shot. Can't beat the price either, it is the best price among competitors.

This is the most used tool in my espresso setup. I have another tamper I really don't even use because this one just works and is super functional. As stupid as the little rubber holder is, its useful and I appreciate it coming with.Cons: the espresso gets caught all up in the edges like you can see there, but it does comes with a tiny brush lol not that it helps much. I rarely knock that stuff off, and it still works fine.If you're just getting into espresso this is perfect for you, they have crazy expensive tamper/levelers but other than looks, this one works perfect, and is reasonably priced.

I use this with my Casabrews machine, and it helps smooth out the coffee grounds in my portafilter. It is heavy and adjustable. I particularly like the little brush to help brush off the extra grounds of coffee.

This is a great Tamper...the weight is incredibly nice to hold and use and you feel like you're using a well-made and durable product. Few accessories with it are nice as well, although won't use the storage case as who wants to store and retrieve everyday. Well made. Well Done.

We really like this so far, it has a nice heft to it and the quality seems great. It was pretty difficult to get the black rings to move at first so we could adjust the hight but with some patience, fiddling, and a little hot water we finally got them to move and haven't had an issue with it since.If you struggle with grip strength or hand dexterity, you may need someone to help you with getting the hight adjusted at first.

I bought this distribution/tamper combo in a package with the portafilter simply due to the price, but I am pleasantly surprised with the quality. The combo is heavy and fits the basket much better than the stock tamper. Easy to adjust and add consistency to my workflow. If I had to say anything negative it is that coffee can get stuck in the threads but that is likely true with other brands as well. It is no big deal and doesn't bother me.As for the portafilter. I am not sure if the handle is treated wood, resin filled, or something compressed but it feels nice in hand. I mean to say that it does have a bit of a plasticky feel for being wood. I know some might not like that, I don't mind. It seems to be well made. The part of the portafilter where the basket goes feels nice, is smooth and the ears are clean with no burrs or raised edges. Fits into the group of my Bambino Plus well (a smidge looser than the stock portafilter). The basket itself is nice quality too and requires a finer grind than the stock basket from Breville. I use it on the daily and am happy that I decided to buy it.All in all, I am glad I went with this package. For the price you'd normally only be able to get one tool or the other. I feel both tools help me make better coffee and seem pretty well built. I cannot tell you have they compare to much more expensive items but if you get one like mine, I think you will be happy.
