The hitch looks and feels solid (material, coating, geometry). Installation is relatively easy; If you have trouble, you can always remove the muffler to make it even easier. After mounting and before tightening, make sure hitch is centered properly (I was worried about what others have said that it touches the muffler but there is enough clearance).The only reason I rate it 4 stars (I'd give it 3.5 if I could) is because the receiver tube is too wide. I am unsure if this is across all or only mine, but racks that never wobbled on other hitches now need hitch tighteners. It makes changing racks a bit of a process and makes me worry a little when on the highway.I am relatively satisfied.

Everything came together that you will need to install this to your frame of your car. I would totally advise watching the installation video on youtube but other than that. This hitch is very sturdy and durable. My car pulled a 9’by 10’ Closed trailer with No problems . You will need a adjustable hitch piece that fits into outlet so you can pull with a normal size ball. Very satisfied.

After bolts were in the frame I needed a hand to lift the hitch & have 4 bolts stay lined up with the hitch holes

I managed to perform the installation by myself, while under the vehicle. I would've been much easier with a helper or with the car on a rack, but just know that it isn't that difficult. I bored out the two frame holes with a tapered, stepped, drill bit and it worked just fine. I gave the newly exposed steel a shot of spray paint to prevent rusting.There was no interference with any vehicle trim, nor did the exhaust contact the hitch during driving, even trying to get it to by speeding over speed bumps etc. I figure I saving $200+ doing the install myself.

I’m very happy with the final look of the hitch. To get the hidden aesthetic, all steps as stated in the instructions must be followed. Unhooking (used a special tool from the local auto store) and lowering the exhaust, and supporting it on jack stands, grinding an access hole larger on each side, fish wires, and properly torqued to 110 foot-pounds.The fish wire technique is genius and an easy part of the process. Clearance to align a manual torque wrench on the back 2 nuts required the right length socket extension.

I am glad curt made the only hitch that works with the Cx-30. Now I can haul my bike knowing it is properly secured while having full access to my trunk. Took the hitch to you uhaul after a few quick phone calls the rep found an installer that could take me in immediately. I paid $120 for the hour and a half install. So far so good. The exhaust does rattle against the hitch usually in second gear during super hot days. I bought a new rubber spacer to increase the distance between the hitch and exhaust. I also added a rubber bumper guard on the inside of my bumper in between the exhaust and hitch to minimize any noise. It is not an issue almost all the time even without the additional steps I took to prevent the exhaust from shaking against the hitch when I hit the gas.

Hitch was a Amazón ware-haus product but it came with all the things you’d need for a DIY install. Exception being a tool to widen the holes in the frame. Easy to follow directions, fits PERFECT with the car. Sleek and flush. Looks OEM.
