Okay, not sure long term how well it will work. The mounting points are very flexy.

This installed pretty easily on my Ford Focus. The fact that it comes in several pieces made it easier, but the instructions could have been better (just watch the video by the manufacturer and you'll get it). Word to the wise -- when they say you need a 3/8" torque wrench, they mean it. A 1/2" is almost too big to get torqued while the vehicle is on the ground, but I was able to make it work. I was also able to make it work by only unhooking one of the exhaust rubber thingies, not both. Just have to stretch that other one. All in all, pretty happy!

This hitch installed pretty easily (1 hour) - the hardest part was juggling around the two pieces, on my back under a car that sits low. I bought this because it only has the receiver portion below the bumper, not the entire draw bar. I also liked the two piece design of this hitch. You don't need to remove the exhaust, just trim the heat shield - that does add about 15 minutes to install time, but it's possible. I used a combination of a 3/4'' socket and open end wrench to try to make installation around the exhaust a bit easier.Originally I had put this on the car to use with a hitch-mount bike rack or a hitch-mount cargo carrier. It is EXTREMELY important that you use something to anchor your hitch-mount bike rack or cargo carrier to something in or on the car. These items put a very high torsional load on the hitch receiver - much, much higher than that of a trailer with 200 pounds of tongue weight. I found that a ratchet strap through the trunk base to the spare tire which is bolted down works very well. Curt sells an official strap for this - which you will want if you ever plan on warrantying this hitch for whatever reason.I started to use the Focus to tow a small boat trailer and popup camper. The hitch works very well for this with no flex, creaks, etc. I (220 pounds) can stand on the tongue of the loaded trailer and the hitch does not bend - the mount points to the "frame" are very secure and well placed. No issues towing with the car, either. The hitch has saved me way more than the purchase price as I am not towing with a vehicle that gets 15MPG.
