I absolutely hated the cast shoe you get at the doctor's office. It slid all over the place, and just didn't fit correctly. I couldn't walk in it.This one, though, is worth the $20 (give or take). It allowed me to walk with confidence, rather than fear of falling from the cheap, unstable build of the free ones.If you are in a cast like I currently am, and don't want to use crutches or a knee scooter, get one of these!

Makes walking easier. Levals cast so you can balance. So you can put your leg down. While using crutches. The only problem is I feel like I can walk. Very easy to apply to much weight on leg. Wish I would of got right when cast was put on. I have a 9.5 men’s shoe bought large and just fits.Fits around cast well but toes right at edge. It is well made too.

This cast shoe works well. It is very adjustable in all directions, and the wide strap across the foot makes it feel very stable. My PT wanted the details so she could recommend it to others she worked with. The only reason I didn't five it 5 stars: one elastic strap across the ankle attaches to a velcro closure that is on the outside of my foot, far down near the floor. With a cast up to my knee and limited ability to bend it, it is difficult to reach the that particular closure. More difficulty getting it open than attached. Sizing: I wear size 10 women's shoe, and the large is just the right length.

Excellent product. Makes getting around much easier. The bottom of the boot is very well made and should hold up well for the 4-6 weeks I'll be in my cast. The boot keeps the cast from touching the ground and therefore cleaner, and the large flat bottom adds stability. Sizing is always an issue for something like this. I wear a men's 10.5 shoe and therefore ordered a size large in the cast boot. It's about 12 inches long. In hindsight, I perhaps should have ordered an extra large because my toes do extend over the edge of the boot about 1/4 inch. On the other hand, the large is probably less clumsy than the extra large would have been. For those few miserable weeks that you have to be in a foot/ankle cast, the Darco Int'l Slimline Adult Cast Boot sure helps.

I would never order this item again .

It was the only thing that fit the bulky cast I had even after it got bulkier due to repair. This was due to fact that the strap on the foot comes off completely to adjust for the bulkiness. With the additional straps around the ankle it felt really secure. It was not flimsy like some others, which might have made it heavier but security was worth it. The only problem I had was on a hot humid day I must have really been sweating in it and tI felt like I was wearing a wet sock. When I took the cast boot off the bottom was wet and my cast was soft on the bottom.

I bought this boot after shattering my heel and being placed in a hard cast. I was given crutches and a knee walker and told to keep my weight off my heel for 6 weeks. While this sounds fine and dandy, as a single mom of 2 who also has horses and dogs and works full time doing so was nearly impossible. I began wrapping an ace bandage around the cast and attempting to walk. While that worked for a few days, it wasn't practical. This boot is amazing! It supports the cast to avoid breaking, is easy to use, and has made daily life so much easier. While I don't recommend going against doctors orders, if you're a hard head like me or able to walk in your cast I highly recommend this boot!

I recently broke my 2 toes next to my big toe and fractured the upper part of my foot, but I am a mother and a pet owner and a worker, so life could not just simply stop for me. So I looked for a boot that would allow me to take care of my kids, pets, job and house with the easiest boot. I wear a ladies size 9-91/2 and it was recommended that I get the large, but I find the large is a bit too big and heavy, so it does not hold my toes in place the way it should. It makes me feel a little more protected from further injury because the outside shell is pretty sturdy, and walking is a bit more comfortable, but I would have preferred and better fit and a lighter weight to the shoe. Hope that helps.

I'm a size 10 (UK size) foot. Although I bought this shoe in a 'large' size, it only just fits the length of my foot. Unfortunately, given that it's meant to be worn over a plaster cast, the velcro fasteners on the bottom of the shoe are nowhere near long enough to fasten together over the cast itself. I've had to buy seperate, longer velcro straps to fasten the two sides together. I've noticed that the shoe is manufactured in China which may account for the description as being optimistically described as 'large'. Otherwise it seems sturdy enough to last for the time I'll be in my cast.
