The frequency response of this microphone is not flat; the high end is anything but flat. The microphone itself is worth about $20 to me, and the case is worth anther $5. Most of the value is derived from the provided measurement / calibration. The microphone does come with a calibration paper, with the printed curve on it, and there's a with a way to download the calibration file from the Internet. It didn't come with a USB drive copy of that file though, so you'll need to do that yourself for backup purposes. The confidence in how accurate it all is is taken on trust, but it's at least reasonably accurate based on using it to test my existing microphone collection, like with my Shure mics. I do mostly trust the provided response curve profile, but more could be done by the company to offer transparency into the testing process, error tolerances, and ways to confirm its working correctly, etc.I really do wish the microphone I got was more flat, as mine seems pretty seriously not-flat, but I guess that doesn't matter too much if you're using the calibration file. It just would be nice to not have to do that.

I needed a calibrated measurement microphone to use with Sonarwork's ReferenceID room correction software. I have two. 8" studio monitors about a foot from the wall, and the bass responsive is a bit heavy given the small room they're in. Works like a charm. The price can't be beat. Comes with a nice padded carry case.

Considering the price of these microphones, they do a fantastic job. Also downloading a calibration file for them is very easy. I initially bought them as a demo but they are cheaper than the dbx RTA mics and they do a much better job

Works great, measures REALLY, REALLY close to mics 3 to 10 X its price. FYI don't use these in direct sunlight for very long. They have a mylar diaphragm that can easily overheat.

This has got to be the nicest microphone I’ve bought for under $100 from a quality stand point. All metal casing. Its own case. Frequency response graph. Stand. Really really awesome. It seems like dayton audio cared. And it works as advertised. I’ve been taking measurements of my various speakers on SATlive just for fun. I haven’t had to use it out in the field yet, but if you’re into audio, its great to have one. Excellent purchase

Used it with IK Multimedia ARC, worked perfectly. Super easy to download calibration file from official website. This is an absolutely game changer for home studio with limited budget on room treatment. ( Saying in so, you have to have a software working together of course)Something worth knowing is that mic mount came with it only work with the desktop stand came along in the box. But it was an easy hack for me to put a cloth on my 58’s mount (adding a layer of thickness) to clip in firmly for my mic stand. One of the best value for money mic.

I use this mic with RME FF400 to make measurements with Audiolense. It comes with a calibration file that is a real advantage for such a price range. The sensitivity is good and works well with phantom power as intended. Got good measurements that translated to great sounding filters. for ~70$ you will be hard pressed to find a measurement mic with a calibration file. This is a great VFM.

Most disappointed after having waited 3 weeks for delivery to unbox a damaged microphone. The opening for the XLR plug is dented enough that the plug cannot connect (this is a calibrated precision instrument and even if the plug could be made to fit, I would no longer trust it to be within specification). The packaging is fine so either the microphone isn’t new or the damage must have been present when packaged. Amazon say they can’t replace it, they can only refund, but they could sell me another for 80% more than I paid for this one!

This is a tool that does its job at an affordable price. The mic looks flawless and feels solid. The frequency response is very flat across the spectrum, as shown in the test report that comes with the mic. This mic will be awesome if it also can be used for vocal, else it will be underused after you are done treating your room. Calibration file can be downloaded from Dayton's website to use on Room EQ Wizard. It comes in a nice little briefcase-like container to keep it secure and includes a windshield, a mic stand holder and a small tripod.

I bought this to go with my DBX DriveRack PA+ and it works just perfectly! Nice quality build, perfectly calibrated and overall the product is just what you need!Pros: great build, great price, carrying case, mic grip includedCons: none so farIf you are buying the DBX DriveRack PA+, you need one of these to really fine tune your setup in the least amount of time. You can read my review to the DriveRack PA+ and you'll see that it's wizard is key for most DJ's on the run. Sure, if you have a sound engineer degree and you are really keen on fine tuning you PA yourself, knock yourself out, but the DriveRack PA+ does a fantastic job. With that, the Dayton Audio EMM-6 mic will allow your system to be finely tuned. The difference is night and day!The build quality of the EMM-6 is great! Solid build, nice weight. Comes with a hard case as well, which is really good since you don't want to damage this bad boy.All I know is that the EMM-6 does a great job with my DriveRack PA+, so make sure you pick one up as well. You could buy DBX's own model, but it's almost twice the price. The EMM-6 works just fine in my humble opinion.
