Was able to set time unlike the previous one I returned. Their instructions should have an opening section on how to set time, i.e. what do you see after pushing the time set button etc. Suggestion, the instructions should have a French section, not just English and Spanish. They would sell more here with French instructions. Their model uses a 12 hour clock and does not have a 24 hour clock option or option. Most countries use the 24 hour clock and even the US military uses the 24 hour clock.

Works just great. Sound is very good. Found out that after programming alarms for radio I could switch to cd and push sleep to fall asleep to music. Had to push start after sleep.Learned this from checking reviews.

This digital clock/CD player is exactly what I was looking for in my home office, i.e., a large time display and, most importantly, a CD player. The settings are not particularly user friendly but I figured it out without too much trouble. So far it plays well, the audio is more than adequate for my needs, i.e., background music for work and for my home yoga sessions and I am pleased. In this time of inflated prices and for what I paid for it, I'm just happy that it works as well as it does.

I ordered this as a gift for my brother. Of course once I gave it to him he asked me to set it up for him.The features work as they should. Great space saver, quality sound.I gave it three stars because other than the setup I haven’t used this product other than setting it up

I just opened up the box and tried to program the alarm function. It is either impossible to understand the instruction manual or it simply does not work. Both my wife and I have tried numerous times to set the alarm on the clock. The instructions are either incorrect, impossible to understand or it simply does not work. I will be trying to return this highly inferior product to Amazon and recommend that they do not sell any more of these units to unsuspecting customers. I would ask Amazon to contact me for information on how to return this product to them.

My nephew, the last baby in his generation, is going off to college this fall to major in science and technology. We are all so proud of him, but he was having a hard time coming up with all of the items on his supply list and I wanted to help him out, so I purchased this NRC-175 Digital Alarm Clock Tuning AM/FM Radio and CD Player in Black Lacquer from seller, Naxa Electronics. This one product allowed me to check two things off the list of things my nephew needs, an alarm clock and a portable CD player. The LCD digital display shows the time and is backlit for easy viewing. Digital tuning for AM/FM stations, a top loading CD player, and an alarm with snooze function make this a multifunction unit that takes up hardly any space. Having a reliable alarm clock is essential for someone who is not even used to getting himself out of bed in the morning. I know that my nephew will use this every day and I hope he enjoys having control over his own schedule. I hope this review helps to better inform your purchasing decision on this product. The radio/CD functions are fine. The time does not show when the radio is on/CD player is active. My son falls asleep to a CD and I have to go in and power it off before I go to bed so that the time displays.Update: After less then a year the unit has stopped working. There is the sound of static in the speakers, radio stopped, and CD stopped. Display fails to light. It just stopped working. Buyer Beware, this thing is a piece of junk.

UPDATE:At first I left this with a 4 star review but wanted to change it to a 5 star now. My only complaint at the time was that you could not use either the CD player or radio and fall asleep and also have the alarm work in the morning. I have since found that you can! First you have to set your alarm, turn it on then you can turn on either the CD or radio then push the "SLEEP" button that has a timer starting at 90 minutes which you can adjust lower if you like. As long as you have your alarm set to "Buzzer" when the timer counts down it will switch back to the clock and the alarm will go off at the set time. Remember if you have your alarm set to wake you with the CD or radio it will only turn on as loud as you had it set before you went to sleep. This truly is a great little CD and radio Digital Alarm Clock!OK so I know there are a lot of negative reviews about the NAXA digital alarm clock but I have to say that it really does have some nice features. The CD player works great, I get great reception on the radio, IF you read the instructions its really not that hard to figure out. Yes I did have some trouble setting the minutes for the clock but other than that I was able to set every thing else without a problem.Now there is only one thing I don't like about it but can still live with is that you CAN NOT say fall asleep with the CD playing and expect the alarm to wake you in the morning. If you don't have it on the time display the alarm WON'T work. With that being said to me for the price its a great bargain. I did contact NAXA to ask about the alarm working when the CD is being used however their customer service is non existent, the only answer I received back from them was a "return authorization' even though I never asked to return it.If you need something that you can listen too, radio or CD and have the alarm work too this is not for you. If you are looking for a alarm clock/radio/CD player with a small foot print then I would say give it a try. With dual alarm modes and the ability to preset radio stations its a great little unit.
