External Diameter

This is the easiest to read caliper I have owned. I like that the display is larger and that it uses 2032 battery that is more secure than the batteries in cheaper calipers.

These feel great, work well, long battery life and the display is really large. Metric, Imperial and Fractional. What you will find is that the fractional is not as useful as one would hope for. Not the fault of the caliper, just that the measuring in 128th means that often you are reading some crazy fraction like 33/128 rather than the 1/4" you are after. Figuring out that 33/128 is only a 1/128th" larger than 1/4" is harder than just looking for something close to .25". So you generally just look up the factional size you want in decimal inches and use that. If I were designing one of these, I think I would only go to 64th of an inch, since that is the most common drill size increments. However this is a very nice tool

All good and I like the position of the buttons on the side rather than top to make them easier to reach. Here are some findings about my 12 inch version caliper: The large jaw depth is about 2.3 inches and the small one about 0.8 inches. It will power on automatically when the distance is changed starting at the last measurement made. It keeps the last measurement when turned off/on. Mine slides smoothly across the entire length. I generally use 2x reading glasses but can easily read even the smaller numerals without them. It came with 2 extra batteries on top of the one in it. Comes with clear instructions and specs. No tools are required to replace the battery. It came with a small Phillips head screw driver that fits the screw on the far end of the caliper that holds the depth ruler in the channel. I cut an old film type phone screen protector to fit its screen which worked well. Hope this info helps someone choose a new caliper.

for how much I spent on these calipers I didn't have high expectations, but they seem to be very solid for the price. checked accuracy with a gauge block and it's good. their design for the fine adjustment wheel seems to have a clutch that helps maintain uniform pressure at zero and while measuring. i've used it for several projects already and no complaints. it comes with a very mitutoyo style case and 2 batteries as well.

Very easy to use this product - well made and better put together than ones made for Harbor Freight where the battery door popped off on day 1. Very easy to use and love the choice of digital or fractions for imperial measurements. Very easy to read!

The calipers large digital screen is nice. The tool itself bombed out the large screen tilts at the top causing incorrect measurements the action is smooth the thumb wheel is not fitted properly very loose

The caliper seems to work fine, but the case came with a corner broken. I am not sure if it was like that when it got shipped, or if it was damaged in transit, but I was surprised that it was shipped on a bubble envelope. I am considering asking for a replacement.

Listen, I don’t review things much but this is the most amazingly made thing I have bought on Amazon. It is accurate as heck, made sturdy and actual metal (not painted plastic), and comes with extra batteries and a sweet case. Buy this caliper. It’s no bull.
