But I needed a clamp meter that could measure DC current. Until recently, they were too expensive for home hobbyist use, I would borrow one from work if needed. The rest of the functions seem to work, but I have lots of DMMs for other purposes. When converting my ebike from one controller to another, I needed to monitor battery current during testing to ensure that the hall and motor phases were correct. if not, the high current could quickly damage the controller. It worked fine for that.

If you can get this with the 20% discount, it is a no brainer deal.It works great, and the bluetooth app is very nice too.You can't ask for a better clamp meter for under $20!

I tried using relative measurement and direct measurements. DC current is just jumping all over the place. It keeps jumping even if I’m just walking in the room, away from electronics…

I needed this for the DC clamp meter, about the best price on one I’ve seen. Sometimes the hold function acts weird and the backlight is hard to turn on. Some wonky features but it works great none the less!

Works great and the bluetooth is a must have. Imaging getting the live reading on your cellphone/laptopwhile troubleshooting electronics / electrical. I'm very happy with this tool. Great value for the price.

I recently learned how to repair and make my own lithium battery packs. I love this meter, comes in a handy zipper bag with a pouch to store the probes, did play is easy to read, with a backlight button, for working in dim lit areas. This unit is perfectly sized for my work and sure beats the old cheaply I had. Recommend this meter, fair price for a quality multimeter.

The Bad: -- NO AUTO POWER OFF: My biggest complaint and a huge annoyance is that the meter does not have a timed power off. If you happen to forget to turn it off, which I do all the time, it will just run until the batteries are dead. -- NO CHARGE PORT: One must install batteries. -- SMALL DISPLAY: The display is small and hard to read. The readouts on the edge of the display can be hidden by the shadow caused by the case's opening. -- DOES NOT COME WITH A CASE: There is no case or bag to keep all the probes and meter together. -- NEED TO PROVIDE PERSONAL INFO TO USE BLUETOOTH: Why? In order to use the Bluetooth capability you to a phone and install an app so no monitoring with a laptop. In order to run the app, you have to register to provide an email and a password to use the app. I'm sure it's helpful to remotely monitor the meter but it's not worth the trouble and inconvenience of more email spam and remote monitoring are not needed for my use. -- AC CURRENT OFF: The AC current was about 0.1 Amp different than another clamp meter. -- MORE EXPENSIVE: At the time of this review, the cost of $48 was in the upper 20% of prices for meters of similar capability that include Bluetooth.The Good: -- BACKLIT DISPLAY: That helps to read the small display but you have to push a button to turn it on. -- AUDIO CONTINUITY: How basic a feature this is to have the meter beep when a short is detected. Many meters don't offer it but this one does. -- NO DAMAGE WHEN WRONG AC/DC Selected: I could measure 115 VAC and select DC on the meter and the input was not damaged. A wrong selection is very likely to occur so good to know the meter is robust enough to not be damaged. -- COMFORTABLE TO HOLD: Easy shape to hold and it's light. -- COMES WITH LEADS AND THERMOCOUPLE -- TEMPERATURE MEASURED CORRECTLYCONCLUSION: The lack of an auto power-off is the kicker for me. I could not recommend this meter for that alone.
