Lasted only about 4 months before it needed replacing. The clips were fine, but it wore through the outer portion then eventually the inner cords started breaking one at a time. Finally I had to replace it when there were only a few cords left as I didn't want to risk it breaking completely with a dog on it. Our dogs are medium-sized... about 50 lbs each.

I bought this for a camping trip to hang between two trees and make an extra long tie out for my dog. It worked great, no snags or fraying. And was very easy to clean and remove mud from when done.

*UPDATE* Took about a year but finally got a worn spot. Didn't take long to go from worn to "Oooh, THAT'S what it looks like inside!" Still usable but once the outer part started to peel it's easy to become a tangled mess.Going over what's happened since my last review. It stays out ALL the time and thus gets rain on, in the sun, in the hot, in the cold. I've had to oil the hook thing because it started sticking but a little oil did the trick. Einstein is only on it outside with us so there's been no chewing to it. It's just a spot that wore near where it's tied to.He runs full out on it. Has hit the end a few times and the give is enough that he can still reach the ball. It's flexible, the only wear (besides the spot that kept rubbing. I'll figure out where that is so it doesn't happen again) is just general fuzz that will have with anything that's any kind of fabric. Still looks good.Ordering a new one without any hesitation even with the break so hopefully that gives y'all an idea of my like for this product. It's been beaten and abused by an energetic lab puppy and handled the TN sun baking down on it and freezing over a winter and survived quite well as far as I'm concerned.*************************We had an old pit/lab mix that had been great about not wandering off for years (but we always stayed out with him). However as he got to around 15 he started just not listening as well. As someone with coordination issues, walking across the yard to go get him was not easy and I wanted something lightweight that wouldn't be uncomfortable for him to be attached to. It worked great for that and we were able to just sit on the front steps and let him wander the yard.Unfortunately we lost him a few months ago but this has been perfect for our new puppy. The rope has give to it so if he gets to the whole 40 ft he can still reach a little more to get the toy that I somehow managed to throw that far (not bad for someone that never learned to throw a ball!).We've only had it for about 7 months but I see no damage to it at all. If it starts to fall apart I'll update but I'm pleased so far.

My one dog runs in circles. With the old wire enclosed in plastic tether which eventually cracked, I often got a painful pinch. These are much softer and less likely to get tangled with my two dogs I'm hoping it will hold up. I've had it less than a month. Rain doesn't appear to affect it. Time will tell if it's durable. So far I'm happy with the purchase.

I had tried tie out cables for our dog. They were stiff and hard to work with because I needed a long length. We were constantly tripping over the stiff cable when we went out our back door. I decided to try a 10' cable and attach this long light weight rope to that. Works beautifully for me. I attached the cable outside my door. I can leave it out in the weather and it is thin enough that I can pull a few feet of it under my door with the very flexible rope leash attached to it. I store the long rope in a bucket inside next to my door.
