The Dorman valve was less that half the price of other brands and does the same job. It came in very quickly. It does come with a gasket but because this was a reboxed item, the gasket was a bit banged up.The only hard part was getting the nut loose from the EGR tube on the old valve, but I am a persistent old lady.I did start the nut back onto the valve before I reattached it to the engine. I definitely recommend doing that first.The best part—the engine light is off. Problem solved!!

This is listed as compatible with 1998 Mercury Mountaineer (4.0L SOHC V6) but it is much too large. I had to return it. You can see in my pictures, the new one is the black one on the right, and it is bigger than the old one. Either way, the build quality looked very good. It looked very solid. I wish it did fit.
