This Double Step Footrest isn't the prettiest footrest that I own, in fact I would classify it as being borderline ugly, but, despite that, this footrest has become my favorite footrest. When I put my feet up I usually want to put them straight up, as in stretch them out full length from my hips. To do this requires a taller than normal footrest. That is the main reason that this footrest has become my favorite, it is the tallest footrest that I own.I would give this footrest five stars for it's height alone but as I mentioned I think it's a bit on the ugly side. One good thing about a footrest, if it is ugly it's not likely to be seen much once it's hidden beneath a desk.My desk happens to be positioned in such a way that when I walk past it I can see part of this footrest. Mostly I can see the top part of the footrest. This top area is where I put my feet most of the time. The top is covered in black vinyl which is loosely wrapped around a narrow but comfortable section of padding. After I remove my feet from this area of the footrest the black vinyl has two to three vertical wrinkles in it. The wrinkles are about the size of an adult finger. The vinyl is probably meant to be loose so that it won't be easily torn due to having feet on it, but, the wrinkles in the loose vinyl are ugly.I also don't understand why everything on this footrest is black except the bottom shelf which looks like brown wood. In my opinion the black metal and vinyl and the brown wood don't look good together. When I was putting this footrest together I grumbled a bit about the engineering. I thought that the least that they could have been done is to make some indentations in the hollow metal legs where the flat edges of the shelves bolt on. I didn't like the idea of bolting a flat edge directly onto a round edge. However, I have to say that this footrest is very solidly built. The bolts are holding everything firmly in place. This footrest is nice and tall, has a comfy padded footrest at the top, but, is a bit on the ugly side. Because this Double Step Footrest happens to be my new favorite footrest it gets four stars from me.

The foot step is great. I'm 5'1" so it work perfect. I just wish either the top was a little higher or it was skewed back a little, not directly on top of the step. My shins hit the top bar sometimes, especially when I want to cross my ankles. See photo. My shin knocked the top bar, that part is not padded. OW!

After securing the bottom gripper, one of the bush assemblies is coming loose. There is a risk that one of the bush assemblies could be lost.

Shorter people may think it a little too high

This is the perfect height for my seat. I work from home, and fidget a lot while seated. I HAVE to change positions constantly. I was looking at one of those extremely expensive meditation office chairs that have the foot rest built in, but decided to try this footrest instead to save money.BOY am I glad I listened to that instinct. I would say this is even better, because I can move it to any position I like, have one foot elevated, the other on the bottom shelf, cross both legs on the top, put it far away and stretch my legs out. This thing is saving my lower back, as I was developing pain from sitting during the work hours.Best purchase I have made on this site, thank you!

Assembled easily. I sit for extended periods at my job and this is just what I needed to help my legs and back.

Easy to put together and comfortable to use. Unless you put some rubber nubbies on the bottom of the legs it will slide on the floor which might make you crazy or you might like that it slides on the floor I don't know. The top pad is thick and very comfortable you can even sit on it but I wouldn't recommend that. The bottom shelf is not adjustable in height and it is about three to four inches off of the floor. The bottom shelf is tilted for your feet. I keep this under my desk and I shove it around as however I see fit when I want to use it. I have chronic venous insufficiency so there are times when I do need to elevate my legs. This works for me. It is not a step stool! Never use it to step on. I'm glad I bought it it also goes with the rest of my apartment which is kind of like a little cottage inside. I'm happy with it.

I work in my home office and have tried a myriad of foot rests over the years that either wore out, weren't high enough, couldn't handle the weight, or were just awkward to use. This is the solution to all of my footrest needs. It was super easy to assemble, took 2 minutes. Putting it together, you can tell each piece is high quality and made to last. The bottom platform is perfect for when I'm upright and typing away. I have nerve issues in my legs and need to move them around a lot (that plus I'm naturally restless), so being able to alternate from the floor to the wooden step helps to keep me on task. The higher cushioned rest is so comfy and I have no worries about it supporting the weight of my legs and feet. I'll put a leg up to rest it, alternating as needed for my pain/fidgety issues. The only thing it needs are rubber caps for the feet so it doesn't slide around. If it was meant to come with them, they weren't in my box. Otherwise, it's perfect.
