About this item

  • With USB (type-B) input and TOSLINK optical / coaxial /HDMI 12S output(can output at the same time), can work well with DAC, preamp, amplifier or speaker. Adopting XMOS XU208 chip solution, with 1000MIPS random access memory much higher than U8 (500MIPS), and more stable than Italian Amanero solution and coaxial output supports DSD DOP.
  • Output interface with DSD ON function can match the decoder that needs DSD ON signal to decode DSD songs, supporting 44.1K-384KHz/16-32 Bit sampling rate and DOP DSD256 at highest, better signal process brings higher sound quality.
  • High-quality components are used to ensure better performance, such as ultra-low noise LDO regulated power supply, LVDS differential chip, gold-plated coaxial interface, OS-CON solid capacitors and Panasonic FC filtering and decoupling capacitors, the contact internal resistance is smaller and the data transmission is more reliable.
  • USB interface can be used as signal input and power input at the same time, and with external DC 5V input (with priority) that can be powered by phone charger or power bank, easy to enjoy HiFi music any time and any where.
  • Mini size with exquisite design, with PCM and DSD indicator easy to show the output format, black aluminum alloy cases look more cool and fashionable, very suitable for desktop audio device to use.

I have a respectable, audiophile grade stereo system based in large part on the mighty LAIV Harmony DAC. I became aware of digital reclockers via various YouTube videos. To be frank, I wasn't expecting much of reclockers in general and the Douk in particular given its price. I was wrong. The Douk made an instantly noticeable improvement to sound quality in several ways once I connected it between my audio PC and the Harmony. I used USB from my PC to the Douk, and IS2 from the Douk to the Harmony DAC. The most notable improvement was in increased transparency and detail (the Harmony is no slouch in these areas on its own). I also heard deeper, fuller, tighter bass combined with a fuller, more detailed treble. I highly recommend this reclocker or the similar SMSL PO-100 device for high performance audio systems using digital sources if you're on a budget.

I'm using it from a WiiM Ultra USB out to an external DAC via coax. The theory is that it reduces jitter and improves the sound. I do think that the sound is improved. As far as doing what it says converting USB to Coax or optical it works great. I did try the I2S out and it worked but not consistentantly.

Using IIS to a Topping DX9. Very noticeable increase in soundstage and natural timbre. Great product, worth every penny.

I use this device as a USB to Coax translation from a Linux server, connected to a McIntosh C2500 DAC.Often, at the start of a song, my McIntosh spit out white noise. It never did this before with other device.I tried the Optical out and got the same random bug.To me this unit is defective or a piece of junk.I have to hunt for another USB to Coax translation device.

I use this device to provide both optical and coax digital audio ouputs from my iMac via a USB interface. In general it works fine. There are no artifacts in the audio and my DACs generate good quality sound. So when it is working it works fine. But frequently it just disappears from the list of audio devices in my Mac and I have to cycle power to get it to be recognized. This is very irritating and forces me to frequently touch a box that would otherwise be hidden out of view since it shouldn't require any physical user interaction.

To get the best out of it, connect only the B-type USB to a non-shared UBS-3 input. While this device does not require USB-3, connecting it to USB-2 will require you to connect a second USB-2 for extra power. When connecting to a 1-Amp USB-3, there is no need to use the power USB cable, which tends to disconnect and cause sound to drop. Also, do not use WASAPI (even). Use only WASAPI (push), as "event" causes sync issues when HD audio stream is present (above 48kHz).Overall it's a good and cheap digital audio converter solution. No drivers are required in Windows 10 or 11, but it will also add an unknown device, which you may ignore.

Prior to purchasing this model, I was not aware that such an accessory even existed. I was having problems with noise and other factors with the USB input running from my desktop PC to my FX-Audio DAC X6 DAC unit. I had almost given up on it when I came across this Douk Audio U2 Pro advertisement on Amazon. It features a much higher conversion rate than my FX-Audio DAC. My FX Audio DAC had a top conversion rate of 24 Bit-192 kHz, whereas this Douk Audio U2 Pro USB to Digital interface has a top conversion rate of 32 Bit-384 kHz.After ordering it, I connected it by plugging it into my USB input on my PC, and then running a Digital Coax cable from the U2 Pro to my FX Audio DAC. The result - I was absolutely delighted in the sound transformation. Any noise was completely removed - absolute silence now - but more so, the sound reproduction qualities improved substantially. The improvements were substantial enough that it was discernible immediately with a warmer, less digital tonality, yet the music was very dynamic. So for folks who might be having USB issues on their PC, placing an item such as this U2 in the sound path between your PC/Lap-Top (connected via USB) and a DAC or amp (running either an optical or digital coax cable from the U2), you might be in heaven.Douk also makes a less expensive version known as just the U2. That particular model has a conversion rate of 24 Bit-192 kHz. Either way, both of the Douk models are inexpensive, yet they really punch far above their weight, considering what they do. SMSL also makes a smaller one with a 24 Bit-192 kHz conversion rate.Again, I was not prepared for the wonderful audio qualities I began experiencing once I inserted this device in my path between a PC and my DAC. There are so many different ways that you could connect this device - although you must remember that the device must plug into a USB input on whatever you are using as a source, and then you have a choice of running either an optical cord or a digital coax cord to whatever input device you select (DAC, Preamp, Receiver, Amp, etc.). I'm surprised that not more companies make devices such as this (at a reasonable price, that is).I don't know what else I can add here. These wonderful devices (2 of them made by Douk) may (can) solve many an issue involving with USB inputs on various devices. And for the small amount of money you expend, the results far overshadow the small amount of cash you may have expended. As is always the case, personal reviews are subjective. Your mileage may obviously vary. For me, this U2 Pro (and I also purchased the lesser expensive U2) made a huge improvement.

I just received, and installed this device in a sound chain that includes a hp laptop, to Audioquest Cinnamon USB cable to this USB to IS2 converter to Topping D90 DAC to Monoprice Liquid Platinum to HiFiMan Arya headphones. The improvement in sound quality which was already outstanding was far above any expectations I had. Many reviews may not realize that everything in your sound chain affects the final result. This device is a must have for people who have interest in getting the most from what they have! This also works very well as a USB to IS2 converter interface to feed the IS2 input on a Musician Pegasus DAC. It’s works seamlessly and their is an audible improvement in sound quality. My new sound chain is a laptop receiving Tidal HiFi to USB output, to this device, which feeds my Musician Pegasus to my Peachtree SE 220 amp, to my Magnepan LRS speakers.
