These had a good review so I put a five I haven't used them yet but I needed some strings the strings said that I used to get I can't remember what they were called and I couldn't find them and I didn't want to elixirs I don't really like those people love them and they were very expensive they've really gone up on the price and that's ridiculous and so I bought some Ernie balls you know cuz they were cheap but I don't like this still a string they just don't have the good sound that I need for me so I just felt different one of these cuz I have several to guitars but I haven't used them yet but like I said I'm going to change the guitar string soon but the other pair that I bought of this brand I think I'm going to put those on first so if I like them I'll buy more if I don't like them then I'll try to find something different but these had a good review so about three different kinds I think or four so um like I said I haven't used them yet I'm about to wear these strings out that I have on there you know when you got to keep tuning them too much it's time to change them I do play pretty rough I just play Harmony but I enjoy and I'm recommending these because they did have a five star and I think they'll be okay and I think they're going to sound better than the ones I have I just don't like this still strings that I had got and I'm not going to ever get any more of them good luck thank you

I thought these would be cool looking on my Line 6 Variax 300, being that it's black with a black pick guard, no visible pickups, and rosewood fretboard. And it did look awesome until the second time I was playing them when the black finish started flaking off of the high E and B string. Now it looks like the strings are dirty. I ordered a set of their bass strings for my SR300DX, but I'm sending them back given this poor experience. They play and sound fine, but the one thing I need them to do is retain their color. Since they can't do they, they're being replaced after only a few weeks.

The black looks nice and feels good. Nice bright sound. However, the top E string the enamel quickly came off after just one to two days. The other strings haven't lost the coating but the top E did after just casual playing. I was kind of hoping the top strings weren't just painted but actual black steel. Otherwise I would had given 4 or maybe 5 stars.

Maybe I just need to get used to them, but they definitely feel different than the non coated strings. They sound alright, hold tune alright. The high e string is quite dull and the last one wasn't, but this one is thinner maybe it's the pickup not being ose enough I dunno, but overall happy with them.

these will probably always be my favorite go-to guitar strings. the black coating does seem to wear off quickly where the strings are picked, but i feel like it’s worth it having black strings on a black guitar.

Black wears off eventually, but DR makes great strings. Have used them for years.

Recomiendo completamente.

Sound great and look so sexy on a black guitar! Coating seems to want to stay even after 12+ hours of play.

I finally broke one of these beauties. After playing daily for almost 6 months, the A string broke. It still sounded great, so I wasn't expecting it, but compared to the 1 - 2 months I was getting from Super Slinky strings, I think this is a great value, and the black color looks awesome.

Meines Erachtens eine schöne optische Spielerei - ich habe die Saiten mit black, blue und red getestet: die Beschichtung hält nicht besonders gut - der Preis ist zu hoch.

First off let me start by saying I have a lot of guitars and of course strings go with the territory, I have tried many. Let's be fair, I play Metal and Hard Rock mostly, but I also play Classic Rock and some Blues. I have played a lot different strings, some I liked for different reasons, if I am playing a guitar with a 25.5 scale I like GHS LXL strings. I just recently started playing Les Paul guitars and needed a string that would accommodate the new 24.75 scale because the scale is shorter the strings need to be larger to help with tension and tuning stability. I have tried Elixirs in the past they are ok, they sound a little dull and they do degrade or lose the coating fast at the picking area. I decided to try these as I had been told they hold up well. Man they were right! You do have to be careful when you string them up as you can wear off or peel off the coating anywhere there is friction at the metal, i.e. string trees, bridges and the ferrules where the string may come from the top on some guitars where the strings are loaded from the back. Once they are on, and tuned, they are incredible! I have been playing on this one set for about two weeks (about 2 hours a day) and the other set about a week ago at (about 2 hours a day) as well. They have help up well and they really sound great. I love to play heavy and use a lot of harmonics, these strings do not disappoint. All strings wear out, this is just a fact. These look great, sound great and last longer than most. Any way you look at it they are a fine investment. CJWII
