Very affordable and easy to use with 12v input and able to control a DC motor forward and reverse.

Pressing the button to switch from forward to reverse works every time. Reverse-to-forward however frequently fails. The relay clicks twice and continues in the same direction. In an automated system, this is unacceptable.

When I first started using this module, I thought it was unreliable. However, what I found out was that you have to use the proper power supply to get stability. So, if you're trying to control a 12V motor, you'll need a 24-36V power source. For any other load, you'll need twice the load value. So, a 6V load requires a 12V power supply. Then it runs buttery smooth.All-in-all, a cool little module

I love the idea of a prebuilt board to toggle my actuator up and down. Unfortunately, during bench testing this board has not been consistent enough to put into action. As described, the first button push toggled a change of state. The 2nd push toggled a change again, as described. However over the course of several periodic button tests, the board responded very inconsistently. Each time, the board flashes at press, as if it receives the input, however it would not ALWAYS changed state.

I like the board, simple and effective to control a motor forward and reverse. This relay toggles output between +12v and -12v with alternating triggers from a separate timer module. The output connects to a tiny linear actuator to open/close a chicken coop door. But after just a few days of use, the relay now only produces +12v and 0v. The door closes but won't open. Perhaps the door motor consumed more than the 2 Amp this item is rated for. I am replacing this with a standalone 12V 5A 8 pin DPDT relay which I hope will be more durable.
